The first one I received did not work, but it was replaced with no hassle and with an upgrade.

I like the idea of using a remote to open the front door. No more trying to find the right key with a bag of groceries in each hand or trying to find the keyhole in the dark. Took about fifteen minutes to install it (replacing a deadbolt that was already there) and half of that time was spent trying to open the hard plastic shell it was encased in. The module on the inside of the door is about twice the size of a regular deadbolt unit because it has to hold the 4 AA batteries that power the deadbolt. The battery area is slightly lighter than the bottom section, but it looks great; I have the oil rubbed bronze model that complements the doorknob. The remote works fine and is easy to program; just note if the 'unlock' button locks, like mine did, and you care that it's switched, there is a 1-2 switch below the batteries and you just flip that switch to get it working properly. By the way, it comes with 2 remotes, not 1 like it says in the description, as well as 2 keys, in case the remote doesn't work. Overall, extremely pleased with my purchase.
The batteries last a couple of months; it works great with rechargeable batteries. The unit gives you a little beep when it is about to die, I pop out the batteries and recharge them overnight and the next morning pop them back in before I leave. Just remember to always have the key with you because if you don't hear that beep and it dies while you are out, you won't be able to get back in without the key.

Bought this for an elderly person who lives alone, has mobility issues and is at risk for needing emergency assistance. In the event she calls for help, when the help arrives she just pushes the unlock button on the small keychain remote she carries with her at all times, no need for the door to be broken open. It works as advertised: the remote control locks and unlocks the deadbolt mechanism, which also works using the supplied keys (a critical backup to also carry when going out, just in case the batteries that operate the motor run out of juice). Installation wasn't too difficult, although I felt the instruction sheet could have been a bit more detailed. The remote control's coverage is good, no problem with operation from two rooms away or from curbside in front of the house. One reviewer mentioned the remote control's lock and unlock buttons functioned in reverse of how they were labeled. Initially I also experienced this with the second of the two units that I had installed, and realized it was because the second door was mounted to swing open in a direction that was opposite from the first door, which meant the second door's deadbolt latch needed to extend and retract in a direction that was opposite the first. This situation was remedied easily enough: inside the battery compartment there's a small two-position switch labeled "1" and "2". Changing the setting to the other number reverses the functions of the remote control's lock and unlock buttons. After I discovered and made this adjustment, I was quite pleased with the lock overall.

This is a good product. Easy to install. Works as advertised. Only issue is the product I received has red and green LED-type lights above the key slot, which I did not want and weren't in the picture of the product on Amazon's website. So one star off for that. Otherwise, it's fine. Batteries I used, 4 AA lithium cells, lasted ten weeks before needing replacement.

I love it. I live in the city so I don't really like to keep my door unlocked. Now people can just tell me when they're close and I can unlock the door without getting up, and can lock the door behind them. Really convenient. It burns through batteries, but the convenience makes it worth it.
