lights randomly flash when tv is off and plugged into USB (even if the lights are switched off), it's freakin' annoying to see the flash from my living room (as if paparazzi were taking pictures of my living room in the middle of the night).
I tried to connect the usb to my samsung phone chargers, sadly the lights come on and never turn off, the remote doesn't work if they are directly plugged into my phone chargers.... so I have to deal with flickering lights through the night...
I wouldn't recommend buying to a friend. but they do look cool on my 75 when I "do" want to use them. The white looks between a light blue and a white (7500K color)

Ended up ordering 2 of these (1 Small and 1 Large) because 1 Large was not long enough to go around a 65" Samsung TV
They work... sort of...
Plugged them in to the USB and set each on to red to get them to sync up. Works fine and I can cycle through all the colors and modes.
Power TV off. Left on solid blue. They both shut off after a few mins. Works fine
Power TV on. Large strip remembers last setting in blue but loses connectivity to the wireless remote and the hardwired remote. have to unplug it and plug it back in to get any of the remotes to work. The small strip does not remember its last setting and turns on with some random setting, it also loses connection to both its remotes.
I tried only using one strip and testing everything out but still same issues as above.
Reached out to the seller and hopefully they can address these issues. Not sure if i was unlucky and got 2 defective strips but i cant rate these any higher right now.
7/12/17 update - Power Practical has phenomenal customer service. They were quick to reply and are shipping out new ones to me. I bumped it 2 stars just for that great service.

This LED strip works quite well. The range of brightness is great. When you want it dim it can go quite dim and when you want it bright it can go surprisingly bright. The remote works well, I've had no issues with it. The LED strip powers up and down with my tv.
The only problem I have is that when I start up my tv, the Luminoodle flashes a few times. Not quite a strobe, but a bright flash, pause, flash, pause, and maybe a third flash sometimes and it does it mostly in white, but sometimes green. It's a minor problem, but my wife absolutely hates it so I'll have to find another use for the whole setup.
I contacted customer support and they were very fast to respond, very friendly, and immediately sent me a new one. Everything you'd want in a Customer Support team. Unfortunately the second strip behaves exactly the same as the first.
Conclusion: If you can deal with a chance of flashing at startup, this is a great product backed by rock solid customer support. If you're like me and you can't have your tv flashing semi-randomly, you should buy it anyway, but have a plan B in mind for the Luminoodle. I think I'm going to work mine into my computer desk, or perhaps use it outdoors in the summertime as it wil run quite well off the usb battery pack I bought for my phone.

Works as intended, but some small issues.

I am having some slight issues with the led strip flickering in and then off quickly when I have the television and led strip turned off. The tv set would be off for hours and all of a sudden the led strip will just flicker in and then off quickly. It is pretty minor I guess. Other than that, it works as intended. I just wish the strip would turn on and then off as you turn the TV on and off instead of having to manually turn on the led strip with its own separate remote after turning on the TV set.
If your TV has no USB, understand this uses RF Remote, no way to control with Harmony :(

I have to start with some well-deserved praise before I get into why only 4 stars... This is a very high quality LED strip, do not expect the flimsy china knockoffs out there, and there are thousands, this thing is amazing, its super bright (40" with a Medium Luminoodle) and not too much so, it does get warm to touch but still doesn't make me feel like it will burst into flames. I have had mine on for a few days non-stop and still just warm. All other competitors, if you can call them so, require way more equipment to provide the remote control, dimming, with this, its all combined in the FOB like usb end. It has presets for the base colors (Reb Blue, Green and White) along with the abiltity to fade into other blends and although I cannot possibly imagine why the flashing in different speeds option, but hey, you want it you got it. You can also cut these if you like and need to shorten. Now, the only reason I gave this a 4 is you are stuck using the supplied remote, this is not an IR or Infrared remote, so harmony users out there here is the rare exception of a device you cannot add, even with their top of the line models, the Luminoodle uses a RF remote. Now, I have found I could use my Broadlink RM Pro to control it however that has its own pains and many limitations. Now, if you actually have a USB port on your display you may not be affected by this, I have an older set that is without a USB port so I have to use other means to power on and off mine. According to Logitech, I may be able to get around this by integrating their home hub and a smart things hub, but that 200 bucks to control this, hence the 4 stars for me, for others I can see this as a 5-star purchase. Both the Power Practical folks and Harmony have been phenomenal in supporting me, I wish I could give them a 4 and a half at least, bottom line, you will likely be very happy with this, this is definitely a company to keep an eye on for some well-made innovations ahead! Thank you Power Practical!!!
