Really nice, but it has minor flaws

There is a lot to like, but due to some minor flaws it isn't perfect. First, the flaws. The USB connector cable is too short. I have a LG 65" C7 and the USB cable (non-light portion) gets in the way of the TV's power button. On the C7, the lower part of the screen is where the electronics are housed and I had to begin attaching the lights at the edge of the screen. I had to finesse the layout to avoid the power button and still begin attaching the lights at the edge of the screen.
Second, this needs a switch to control power. I will buy a switch, but this feature should be included even if it increases the cost.
Whoops, I almost forget about the positives. Yes, you can see the difference when watching TV in a dark room. The lights look well made and the adhesive looks high quality. However, be careful when removing the paper backing. I pulled a little too hard and pulled and stretched a portion of the adhesive. Begin removing the paper backing very slowly and you'll be fine. Once attaching the lights, you'll notice how sticky the adhesive is. It looks like it will stay on for a long time.

I like the simplicity of this, but it is much brighter than I expected. I got the medium size for my 50" bedroom TV, and in my nerdish excitement I attached it to the back of the TV in the middle of the day after receiving it, in retrospect I should have tested the brightness after the sun set to determine how much I should use, instead of doing the whole top and both sides as depicted in the listing photos. I have a large master bedroom, and even then it feels like a lamp is on, not just some background lighting as I expected.
I may try to remove some of it, but as it's been stuck on the back of my TV for a few days I don't know how easily it'll come off. I should have just done one strip across the top.
Secondly, I wish the lead between the USB connection and the first LED were longer. It was a stretch even from the bottom-most USB port on my TV to try and get the strip to start in the bottom corner.
Overall, it's a good product, esp. for the price. I have already noticed my eyes feeling less strained from bed-time TV (that I know I shouldn't be watching anyway, but we all have our vices...).

The instructions show three installation options based on the length of the product and the television size. Another reviewer has a great idea. Instead of going along the edge to cover the top and sides, cover all four sides with a smaller rectangle. I tried both and the full rectangllooks much better. I had to run it under my wall mount bracket. Thankfully it is the kind that has thick plastic bushing/washers that create a gap between the bracket and the back of the television.
Use masking tape or cellophane tape to mock it up before exposing the adhesive. It ended up being 4-6" away from the edge all the way around.
The USB connector on the light strip does not work well with the USB ports on my television - an LG OLED 55". It is a "double sided" connector that should work in either direction. Flipping it over achieved the same result. This connector only works when partially inserted into the USB port on the back. The side port works better - still has issues - but that's my accessible port. USB ports have been around for a very long time. I can't remember the last time I ran into a flaky type-A connector! Maybe I need a short USB extender cord even though the original connector can reach the port.

Great affordable bias lighting kit for my 55" TV

Great little kit for easily adding a bias light to a flat panel tv. Three things that I discovered that might be useful to other buyers:
1. The USB ports on my Sony x850c are apparently always powered. Meaning that if you use your TV's USB ports, the lights will be on wether the TV is on or off. I solved this by plugging the lights into my stereo receiver's USB port which powers down when turned off. Just something to look out for.
2. These lights work on standard 5v provided by any USB port. However I found that they were too bright for my tastes. So used a 5v to 3.3v step-down converter that I bought here on Amazon to dim the LEDs. Now they give a less obvious, subtle glow that still gives the appropriate affect without being too bright. If you have basic soldering skills its a pretty easy and non permanent modification but will probably void any warranty. Again, good to know they work on 3.3v
3. Using the medium length strip, I was able to adequately cover the three main sides of my 55" TV. I started the first led about a third of the way up on one side, and about two inches inside the outter edge. The length was perfect to reach the same distance down the opposite side.
