I bought this product in 2018. It worked well and had no issues till now. Something went wrong with the door handle would not work. In 2023 I reached out to the company and explained the issue. They send me a replacement part, and we are back to business. Great customer service; they solved my problem. Had an issue with shipping the new part, and once they found out, they expedited the part, and everything was working well after five years of daily usage. This product stood well and still going. Good job!

I'd been searching online for a while to find a reliable smart lock for my apt.
I got Ultraloq UL3 BT and have had it installed for around 6 months. It has been very reliable. I used to always forget my keys and had to get locksmith to open my door. Not anymore, with UL3 BT I don't have that problem any more

Having several options for using it makes it more convenient than other smart locks I've researched online.

1. Fingerprint sensor works most of the time with me. Sometimes I have to place my finger more than once, but most of the time it works well. When weather is really dry I have blow hot air on my finer or sensor for the lock to read my finger print
2. Code works every time. Also, being able to enter the code contained within random numbers is a great security feature when having people around you. I usually go for something like 32165code9736 and I always get a reaction from people saying that is really a complicated combination you have there
3. I don't really use knock to open that much (i.e. Bluetooth feature) because I tend to always force close all my applications, so it hasn't been reliable for me. However, Bluetooth function has other useful functions such as checking logs and changing normal, passage and lockout modes. It's become real handy when I created a user for a contractor to come and go when he needs to without giving him a key, and after he was done I just deleted his user.
4. Last option is the hidden key which was really important for as much as I hate keys. I was always worried that lock might fail for any reason so having a backup key option has put my mind at ease. I haven't had to use it till now, but having that option makes me feel better in case anything wrong happens, and I have the key put in a locked locker in case I need it.

I have also checked and seen the new U-tec app. in action and it is a great improvement to the current Ultraloq app.
With the new U-tec app. you can add and delete users through the app. as well as adding temporary users with day and time schedules with dates for when to be able to open the UL3 BT lock.
Also, there is a WiFi bridge that can be purchased separately that will allow you to control the UL3 BT remotely from anywhere to check logs, add/delete users, change lock mode or even unlock it if needed.

I am really happy with this lock and will probably get another one soon along with their other products found on their website.

This lock is everything I hoped it would be! The fingerprint reader has been reliable, and the code entry is easy and secure. I really like the "anti-peep" feature to obscure the pin entry. My wife's fingerprint never registers on any fingerprint reader for some reason (her phone, for instance), and this lock is no different, so she just uses a pin instead.

The Android app is well designed and easy to use as well. I've used it successfully from a little over 30 feet away, so the Bluetooth range is very good. I primarily use the app for putting the lock in passage mode if I know we're getting multiple guests who know to not knock and just come in (like for a dinner party). I really like that unless I put the lock in passage mode, it's always locked... no more forgetting to lock the door at night! The only thing that I haven't been able to get to work properly is the shake to unlock feature of the Android app. It's not a big deal... I find it more of a hassle to take my phone out of my pocket and shake it than to just put my finger on the reader anyway. None of our family has an iPhone, so I haven't tested the app on that platform.

Installation was very easy. I didn't use the extra security bracket that came with it because I didn't want to hassle with drilling another hole, but it seemed like it would be easy to implement if that's important to you, and it's nice that it comes as an option for install. I replaced a door knob that was old and beginning to not work properly. I like the lever better than a knob, and this thing looks great on our door!

I would definitely recommend this lock to anyone considering a smart lock option. I have a number of smart devices around the house - Amazon Echos, Ring doorbell, a SmartThings hub, and a number of smart switches and plugs. I considered getting a lock that had Z-Wave or Zigbee capabilities so I could use it with my SmartThings hub, but opted for this one due to its multiple entry options. I haven't been disappointed with that decision!

UPDATE 5/20/2020: I have been using this lock for a little over a year now, and still love it. I have replaced the batteries once. It still looks brand new and functions perfectly. The app has improved a bit since I first installed it (adding the ability to name the users is the main improvement I see, which is really helpful). I've used the wireless bridge to remotely unlock the door for a friend who was checking in on the house for me. I added a passcode to allow my brother-in-law to enter the house when he visited from out of town and arrived late at night. I regularly put the lock in passage mode when we have a party so guests can just come on in. We primarily use the fingerprint feature for entrance, though my wife prefers the passcode since she has faint fingerprints and has always had trouble (she can't unlock her phone with fingerprint either). I would definitely buy this lock again if I have another door I want to put an electronic lock on!

The media could not be loaded. Our home is automated with Z-wave, but after 10 years of dealing with Schlage and Kwikset garbage (we have 3 doors with these locks), I decided to get off my wallet and get something that is just going to work. I didn't care about biometrics, or battery life, only design and build quality. This lock was a pleasant surprise. The lock design is not only fast, but easy to trigger and therefore easy on the batteries. Two birds with one stone. The fingerprint is so fast, I found myself trying unenrolled fingers just to see of I could get a false positive and never once has it unlocked. The phone app (I have both Android and iPhone) works great (although I don't use it much because of the fast fingerprint scan/unlock). So far, so good. It doesn't have Z-wave, but with the Bluetooth to WiFi gateway, you can connect it via ifttt. If you do not need that, don't bother with the gateway, Bluetooth works great. A+ product.

This is a very well built smart lock, much stronger than the Schlage and Kwikset I have, but it lacks of built in remote access to unlock and change the code. The fingerprint reader doesn't work most of the time.
