Works like a dream. Playing Overwatch on maximum supported specs (High mode, 60fps) on my laptop used to burn it out after two or three rounds, becoming laggy, unresponsive, sometimes crashing, and always being too hot to comfortably touch. Because my computer does not have bottom vents, fan boards were functionally useless, so for a long time I assumed this was just how gaming would be on the laptop, and stuck to my desktop machine whenever possible.

This fan vent manages to keep my computer at is average operating temperature, even during moderate gameplay. During strenuous and extended gameplay, the temperature does climb, but never reaches the danger zone anymore.

If you have a laptop with a side vent instead of bottom vents, this little piece of technology is fantastic.

My laptop, a gaming rig that would overheat when playing games such as Skyrim (on Extra-High everything with several overhauls,) is now cool to the touch. Regular form laptop pads and fans were just not cutting it, I have no idea how this works so well but it does. I have had 0 overheating problems since buying this product. I recommended by mom buy one, but was actually going to buy it for her and she beat me to it. Now, we both have one.
The only downside is that there is not any suction, so it does not stick to the side of the laptop by itself and needs to be held there by something like the bottom of the machine. It does its job so well, though, that I cannot dock even one point. If it weren't for this fan, I would have had to buy a new laptop. 3 cheers from the dovakin.

This little cooling fan made an immediate and positive impact on the performance of my Lenovo Y510 laptop. Before the OPOLAR cooling fan, the exit port reached temperatures of approximately 135 degrees (Fahrenheit), and the entire left side of the laptop was almost too hot to touch. After using the temporary attachments for the cooling fan, for most tasks the exit port reads in the low 90 degree range, and the laptop chassis is lukewarm at best. Most importantly, the machine itself seems to be performing more crisply (anecdotal, but it seems that way.) I routinely blow out the vent ports on the laptop, so there is little to no dust inside - it just runs hot. The OPOLAR made a big difference!

The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that due to the shape of the Lenovo chassis, the fan wants to sag away from the exit port and it loses its seal. I slipped a folded business card under the fan and it's working famously. It's possible the permanent fan installation would resolve it, as the connecting plate is metal rather than plastic. However, the permanent install requires an adhesive pad on the underside of the laptop, and I've been reluctant to attach it. My laptop spends most of its time sitting next to the desk harnessed to an external monitor and keyboard, so this hasn't been an issue.

I thought my laptop fan had died last week, and I was trying to figure out what to do next when I ran across this on amazon. I was able to unjam my fan, but I wanted to try this anyway. I use it, and I love it. It is such a clever design, and fits very well on my Toshiba (Portege). Now my laptop doesn't ever feel warm to the touch. Cooling pads aren't a good option for me as I rarely use the computer on a desk or table. It is really VERY cool.

After using it a few weeks I want to report that due to more air volume being pulled through the laptop, more dust enters as well. I had to open up the laptop to check on another issue, and there was more dust inside than had accumulated in the previous 5 years. I do use it in a somewhat dusty environment, but I'm glad I noticed it, I will be sure to blow or vacuum it out more often. I will also be using it at the lowest setting, unless it feels warm, and turn it to a higher setting accordingly. When I turn on the Opolar, it starts out at a middle speed, and I turn it down (or off) as needed. When playing audio and/or video I turn it up, and the machine no longer gets hot. I am very happy to have come across this ingenious device.

Received fan July 1st, it died August 28th. This company sent me a new one. They do stand behind their product!!!

I purchased this item for my Acer Aspire E5-573 series laptop because it was overheating while playing video games; Wow and Warframe. After about 15 minutes of playtime my laptop would be extremely hot and the games would lag. I bought a $40 laptop fan from Target but it was terrible. I searched Amazon for a cheaper and better alternative and found this Opolar Laptop Cooler. I am VERY happy I found this. My boyfriend, who works in the IT industry and is self-proclaimed 'techie', was really skeptical about this cooling fan. Once it arrived and we tried it out he was truly impressed by how well it works.

This is really easy to install and use. I imagine it will fit any size laptop as long as the vent is on the side or rear of the laptop. Package comes with various sizes of silicone shrouds, a USB cable for power and the mounting unit. There is no need to buy the extra mounts that are listed as a recommended item. Fan is pretty quiet except for the max setting. Max setting is a little loud but nothing to be upset about. I never use it on max setting anyway because the lower settings work just fine.

The only negative feedback I have is that it isn't really a portable option in the sense that you can't use this and have the laptop sitting on your lap. You need to use your laptop on a hard, flat surface so that the cooling fan stays flush against the vent. The unit itself is very portable and I'd rather pack this away than a large, clunky, plastic, lap-friendly cooling fan. I always use my laptop on my desk so this is not a drawback for me but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Overall this is an awesome fan and I highly recommend it. You really won't be disappointed. I purchase from Amazon A LOT but rarely write reviews. I was so impressed with this gadget that I had to give my opinion.
