Bought this to control heat tape for a commercial gutter. The heat tape is plugged in 20' above the floor of the shop and I mounted the control switch about 25 to 30' away from the outlet. I tested it further than 30' but did not measure the distance.

Works well and I'm able to use it in one room and turn on/off items in another room with no line of sight. It's a bit bulky and may very well take over two spots on your wall outlet simply because of its size, but the product works and does its job well.

These gadgets are great! We bought two ceiling lights with swags that have the toggle switches by the very bottom of the long cords. So, instead of climbing under tables to turn them on, we plug one of these in, plug the light cord into it, and then we just use the remotes to turn the lights on and off. They work through walls, bookcases, etc.
