My son really likes. Allows him to write, color, draw sitting in his chair

I purchased this for when I use my laptop in bed. I am disabled and spend a fair amount of time down and my computer would get too warm sitting on the linens. This has worked very well in keeping it cool and in providing a firm surface to keep it steady. The fact that the bottom has the beads in it makes it flexible and molds to whatever it is sitting on. It is extremely comfortable when sitting on your lap and the surface is great for writing or coloring. I also like the fact that it's not overfilled and puffy like some padded desks, it's just enough to provide some padding and a lot of flexibility.

First let me say that my lap desk arrived in perfect condition, and I haven't had any of the issues that other reviewers have noted. The top is sturdy and sufficiently thick, and it would take a good bit of force to break it (like stepping on it). The bottom is made of a heavier weight fabric, and it's is sewn and well attached to the desk top.
I was looking for a lap desk that would be sturdy enough for multitasking, yet light weight and comfortable enough to use for hours at a time. I suffer from fibromyalgia and chronic pain, so there are days when I am confined to the couch or bed. This lapdesk is the perfect fit for me.
I can watch Netflix on my Fire HD 10, while I play games on my IPad. The desktop surface is smooth, but my tablets stay put in their Ugreen stands which have a rubber strip on the bottom.
My IPhone 7 Plus fits into the slot on top in its Otterbox case. It works stand up or lying on its side (see photos).
This lap desk also holds my 15.6" laptop comfortably, and the plastic bumper in the front keeps it from sliding off.
The fabric handle makes it easy to carry from room to room, and the elastic piece holds odds and ends to keep them from sliding around.

I like this desk. I was worried that it would not be any better that holding the laptop in my legs directly, but it actually is better, very much. It makes me tense my legs less and hold the computer less with my forearms. So I can type more easily for longer and door in a more comfortable seat than at at table or desk. Helpful because I have lots of back pain. I put my feet up on an ottoman and I can work for hours like that.

It's attractive. I would have liked maybe less of a bold pattern, but it's actually fine. Would also have liked the slot to be wide enough for a tablet and not just a smartphone. But I don't really use that feature anyhow. I would if it were for my pad though, with a keyboard. Works very well with my 13" MacBook air.

I have used it in lots of different circumstances too. A little annoying to carry around to waiting rooms but does make it so so much easier to work actually on ones lap than with just a laptop.

I did a lot of research on comparable lap desks on Amazon before purchasing this one. Here are a few things worth mentioning so far:
- The bamboo veneer isn't peeling off. This was mentioned in several other reviews and was my primary concern when purchasing this lap desk. I'll update if I experience any significant peeling.
- The colors are much darker than what the product pictures show. It still looks very good (see pictures).
- The desk is very light. Since I purchased this for my wife! I needed a desk that'd sit on her lap for a long time without discomfort.
- The strap on the top left is firm and very useful for holding down additional supplies. I use it with longer pencils / styli. Average size pens fit in the pen/phone pocket well.
- The white bar to hold laptops and notebooks in place is positioned well. However, if you're using a wedge style laptop (certain Apple laptops) then they can still slide off. Not a deal breaker by any means, you'll I'll just need to hold it in place or purchase sticky surface material.

Overall, this is a really useful, functional, and beautiful lap desk.
