While this is an awesome idea and I thought it would be a great to do homework at, it definitely does not like wood flooring, even with my 7 yr old sitting on it, it still has a tendency to want to tip forward if he leans to far into it. Also of planning to use to do homework make sure you put a folder or something between the desk and paper as the desk does not have a smooth surface and is kind of bumpy. Overall It's still a good seat, and a perfect size if you don't want a big bulky desk, definitely would not recommend for any one older than 8, my 7 yr old is 4'2 abd 64 lbs and won't be able to use most likely after this year.
