Not Stable with Canon 100-400mm telephoto lens

The tripod itself seems very stable, I found it interesting that one of the instructions said do not use in seawater. I got this primarily to use at the beach (not in the water obviously), so I was a bit concerned by that. I am actually in the process of returning this tripod right now, because it was very unstable with my telephoto lens. You will notice in the description it says use a lens ring with a telephoto lens, and that's exactly what I tried to do, but I could not get the mount securely attached to the lens ring. It easily came unscrewed, and the lens oscillated quite a bit when attached to the tripod (just sitting there). The oscillations made the tripod unusable with my telephoto lens. If you're not looking to use as tripod with a telephoto lens, it will probably work just fine. The first photo is my camera and lens attached to the Bonfoto tripod, the second is my camera and lens attached to my old tripod. You will note that in the second photo the lens is attached in a stable fashion. The mount of the bonfoto tripod is about half the size of my other tripod mount. If the bonfoto tripod head was more adjustable, I would have kept it and used my old lens mount (my old lens mount was way too big to fit in the bonfoto tripod).

Light weight and easy to carry but very stable; great for everyday pictures. Did not realized how bad my old tripod was until I used this one and the head moved so smoothly while videoing. What a difference.
Do not buy it! Flimsy construction!

My camera is sliding down form tripod in vertical position (Canon 5D Mark III with wide angle lens).After untwisting/opening legs of tripod I had a glue all over my hands! Plus 2 pieces of legs were absolutely disconnected!This should be not happening at all!Materials are looking cheap...Not for almost $! I am very disappointed with this products...Do not recommend it. You do not want to risk your camera life!

I really haven't put much use into this tripod. At first I loved it, but the ball head has too much play after several uses. The screw that allows the ball head to rotate has slop in it when tightened down. When it is tight, there is a quarter inch of play. I have to be extra cautious taking a shot. I would recommend the tripod, but not the ball head. Disappointed considering the price.
