I wish I could say we loved this item. I really wanted to. I was very disappointed with the craftsmanship and performance. We did not even have this item a year and the lid hasn't worked in 4 months despite replacing batteries. Very dissatisfied. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I guess the best time to write a review is months after the purchase. This product was purchased around Christmas 2017. I purchased 2 automatic trash cans, the NINESTARS DZT-50-28 and another model. I currently own 2 iTouchless models which I've had for almost a year. The iTouchless models get lots of usage especially the one in the kitchen. The NINESTARS DZT-50-28 I purchased for the bedroom. I purchased it because it looks nice and has a bigger opening. As I'm writing this review, the unit is no longer functioning. When it did work, it did not perform as well as the ITouchless units. The "opening and closing" of the lid was not as smooth and quick as the iTouchless units and I lost confidence in it quickly. I guess I'll find out what the support looks like. I will update my review afterwards.

Was nice while it lasted, Just had to replace with a foot pedal trash can which made my husband happy he was annoyed by this one

At first we loved this garbage can but it doesn't last after one year, the motor goes I've tried it twice and both times it failed to work for more than 8-12 months. We spent so much money on it that I feel like it was a waste of money even though the can is cheaper now (we paid 100) still think it isn't worth it if the motor doesnt hold strong. It's hard because we have this nice looking trash can and we have to open it with our hands which was not designed with that method of use defeats the whole hands free...also sides can dent really easy but lightly bang them out...not very noticeable unless really looking at it.
