I actually wish it got a little warmer and had a temperature setting. These are things I didn't think of before purchasing. I am doing some science projects with the kids, but with the cold snap we've had we were unable to get our seeds warm enough This works.

Bought this to keep my Kombucha warm. I live in Minnesota, and it gets cold. We keep our house at 65 and that's a bit too cold to brew Kombucha. This brings my jar to about 75-78 degrees which is perfect. I wrapped it around my jar and left it, I did not secure it and it stays just fine.

I got this as a birthday gift for my Dad. He's always used heat lamps on his seed starter setups, but I kept trying to convince him to use this in order to save energy. We tried it out and it doesn't take up as much power as his heat lamp setup plus it's less of a fire hazard. Now that he's had some success with it, he wants to get a few more.

I'm using this in an atypical way which I think is not recommended, but it works well. My cat kept drinking the water out of one of my aquariums, lowering the water level and making a mess. He wouldn't drink from his own or the dogs' water, so I bought him a fountain... but then, evidently the water was too cold. I put this mat under it (about a 1.25 gal fountain) and waited. It took about 24 hours to bring that volume of water up to a comfortable temp and he drinks from it now. I wouldn't recommend this if you have a cat that claws things up but it's working great for me. Now that the weather's warming up and it's planting season I may use it for what it's intended for! ;)

This is our second year attempting to start our garden indoors. We live in Colorado and the weather is very unpredictable ! So we got this mat to help us out. I'll include the picture it's clear that some of our seeds are either slow growers or bad - but the heating pad for sure helped out little plants get a great start!
