The BEST brace on Amazon, has helped my carpal tunnel tremendously. Don't go for a cheaper brand!
D. Aksamit•June 18, 2018
I have really bad carpal tunnel and I'm almost positive it's from a TON of computer work. I'm on the computer about 12 hours a day and then in my free time I play video games, so I'm constantly using my hands. I've had this issue before but this time it was worse than ever, to the point where I could barely even pick up a sheet of paper without excruciating pain.
If you're not sure if you have carpal tunnel, tendonitis, or something else, go look on YouTube and there are three things that doctors do to diagnose and differentiate between carpal tunnel and other things. It's very simple to tell if you have carpal tunnel. But this brace is good for all kinds of wrist pain. I have a theory that doctors purposely give you BAD brace and the drugstores are in on this scam, because I don't know how many people I've read or watched or talked to that said they used a brace (often multiple ones) from their doctor or the pharmacy and it didn't do anything. As a result, the doctor will tell you that you need $3,000 risky, creepy surgery.
I didn't want to go to the doctor, so I started looking at braces all over Amazon. The best seller, the Mueller brace, is less than half the price of this one, with still very good reviews. So I decided to try this one (works for either hand) for my right hand (which hurt the worst) and the Mueller for my left. I also got a Mueller right one because those look a little bit better for day use.
So I got this one in the mail first, and I am not joking...I put it on at noon, and my the evening the pain was like 90% better. I wore it straight, all-day every day for the next week or so. I also got the Mueller ones in the mail and put the left arm on one. Mueller Fitted Wrist Left, Black, Small/Medium
I have to say, there is a REASON that this brace is a bit more expensive than that one. Maybe I wouldn't know what I was missing if I only tried the Mueller one, but this brand is a LOT better. It gives a ton of support while also being VERY comfortable. I honestly actually kind of enjoy wearing it, especially at night when I go to bed. It's most important to wear this while you sleep to give your wrists a really long time to heal. Sleep is the worst without it because you tend to curl up your hands.
The Mueller ones are a bit better for doing things with your hands, like typing, but they are not very comfortable in my opinion. Within a few hours you want to tear them off your hands (at least for me) because it's difficult to forget you're wearing them. They're kind of hard and uncomfortable. I also don't feel like it's as effective as this one. This brace is VERY comfortable. The only downside is that they are not very good while typing. I've done it, but it's easy to accidentally hit the space bar. You can still do it though if you bring the keyboard close enough to you, like on a laptop. It's a bit bulkier but doesn't really feel like it because it's so comfortable.
So I ended up ordering another one of these for my left hand and ditching the Mueller ones altogether. After wearing them for a week straight, all day and all night I was able to switch to only wearing them at night. Now, I am not 100% yet, but this was only 3 weeks ago and it's a LOT better. I can pick up things and type with not too much issue. I still have a very difficult time writing (which thankfully I don't have to do often but it HURTS) or doing really repetitive tasks on a computer game. They still get sore throughout the day. But they get better every day. Just make sure you wear them at night! Also, if you go on YouTube you can find some awesome exercises to do for carpal tunnel. Combine that with two of these braces, take some ibuprofen and you'll get better! Try to stay away from surgery if at all possible!
LOVE this brace. Trust me, it's not something you want to skimp on. Get this over the cheaper brands! The difference is striking.

EDIT: Replaced with new model! ORIGINAL: Mostly great but metal sticks out
Natan Cohen•April 30, 2018
EDIT:
Here are the steps this company took to address my issue:
1) Refund my money
2) Sent me a second brace from the same batch with a similar problem but not as bad
3) A couple months later sent me *two* new braces from an improved line without this problem.
I now have four wrist braces I paid nothing for and, alas, only two wrists.
These folks clearly are thirsty for the five stars and I guess they've earned it in this case.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I really want to like this brace. It's well constructed and the cushioned part is cozy. I'd give four or five stars if not for a simple problem.
My problem is the slit on the bottom of the wrist where the metal stay can be removed. They cleverly cushion you from the stay with foam, but that foam is split open so wide at the wrist that I feel cold metal directly on my skin when I wear the brace. I get used to it after a while but it's uncomfortable for the first fifteen minutes or so and seems entirely unnecessary. I get that a slit is there to remove the metal but it could have been designed with a flap that would close up better.
Maybe this is just my issue and my unit was missed in quality control, but it's definitely misses my expectations for a more expensive wrist brace to have skin contacting metal.

Great product & attention to customer feedback

In my previous review, I'd given three stars and noted a small problem with the brace. Usually I expect the online buying experience to end there. So I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email recently from the owner of ComfyBrace, telling me they'd redesigned based on the feedback and wanted to offer a new replacement. Shopping on Amazon can be pretty impersonal, so it's refreshing to find that there's still companies out there that take the time to listen to their customers.
The cushion on the new brace I received feels super comfortable yet very supportive. I wore it for a few hours after coming home from work, and it's really helped relieve the tension and stiffness in the wrist.
...
I use a computer all day for work, and recently my wrist had been feeling achy and stiff. I'd do stretches, but it didn't seem to help. At night, my whole forearm would feel painfully numb. This would wake me up 2-3 times a night and I'd have to move my arm around until it subsided. The first night I used the brace though, I was able to sleep through the night. In the morning my wrist felt like it was almost back to normal. The difference has really amazed me! I really appreciate that you can use it on either hand, and it's quite comfortable to wear.
It's a little too bulky for me to wear while working (cause I can't grip the mouse well enough with it on) but just using it at night seems to really help alleviate the wrist strain.

When I bought it 5 months ago it worked well ...

UPDATE: When I left the review below, it was well beyond the 30 day return period and to be honest it never occurred to me to reach out to the seller. Fortunately for me, he saw the review, reached out to me, offered me a full refund, AND mailed me a brand new brace!!! I've been using the new one nightly for nearly three months now, and I can already see it is holding up very well. In fact, it has no issues at all and is getting my wrist through the night with no numbness and no velcro falling open. Thank you so much! The brace gets 5 stars, and your customer service? Ten times that!!! :-)
When I bought it 5 months ago it worked well. Since then the velcro straps have lost their adhesiveness and it frequently comes undone at night. In addition, the seam just under the base of the thumb is now splitting. It is the right size, just not made to last I guess. The one I bought from Walgreens (different brand entirely) about 10 years ago has FAR outlived this "superior" product.

Comfortable, soft, no pain, not for those with large forearms
dd•March 30, 2018
Lots of questions about fit & measurements. I'm a female with a hand size of 7.5" (just above the thumb around); wrist is 7"; about an inch below wrist is 9". I do wear this only at night. I was waking each night in severe pain due to nerve compression in my wrists. The first night wearing this support brace I had no pain whatsoever. I bought another for the other wrist and wear both of them. They are comfortable & I am finally sleeping through the night without pain.
The caveat: Due to the length of the brace & the difference in width just below my wrist to the rest of my wrist & hand, the top of the brace ends up at the base of my fingers. It is NOT large enough to accommodate my larger forearm. It is adjustable with Velco like tabs at the base, wrist, & palm. I keep the tabs fairly loose for comfort. The brace does not come off at night despite sliding upwards towards my fingers. I keep the topmost tab loose to accommodate the greater width of my knuckles.
I would highly recommend this to those suffering from nerve compression or other night pain attributed to their wrists. I haven't worn it in warm weather yet, but I do not anticipate it being overly warm.
