Just got it and in less than 5 min I love it! Purchased to put 2 giant 10.5" water bowls for my dogs and both fit perfectly and know they will not slide around due to the raised paw prints design to anchor in place. Already thinking of getting another for 1) craft/beading to keep beads from rolling around and off table, or 2) use as placemat for disabled person to keep dinner plate in place especially when trying to scoop food up against edge of a plate with spoon/fork with one hand, plate can slide on table but won't on this silicon mat, or 3) would make good drain mat for dishes with rack on top. Just have to monitor that my Dane puppy doesn't start chewing/eating it.

Initially, I was hesitant because of the short lip on this mat because the big dogs are very sloppy drinkers. However, as long as I use a paper towel to clean off the mat once or twice a day, the floor is staying dry! Very easy to clean and very happy with the purchase!

Bought two of these, they are good quality but have a nasty smell to them right out of the package so definitely wash them before using them but expect the smell to last for a little while anyway.
As for what they are used for, I have two dogs and wanted two separate feeding areas to avoid one stealing food from the other and these do a great job of collecting any splashed water or food that falls out. I wish they had more colors and patter variety but I am very happy with this product.
