I have owned this dog pet food mat for some time now.
Here are my thoughts on this product.
When the pet mat arrived, it did have that rubbery smell, as I would aspect it would. After allowing it to air out and washing it. The smell quickly went away.
The pet food mat is very thick and sturdy. My dog loves to move his food and water bowl around, after purchasing this pet food mat. That no longer happens.
I do like the extra height thickness on the mat, my dog has spilled his water or sometimes the water bowl got accidentally over filled by the kids, it can hold the mess and the water.
My cons with this pet food mat is, that if there is a spill and water is in the mat, the mat becomes flimsy when you pick it up and try to fold it to hold the water spill in the mat. It will spill out, best method I have found is just to grab a towel and dry up the mess in the mat than clean the pet mat.
Other than that, this is a really great pet mat, and doesn't slide or move around. Worth the investment

My puppy was leaving so much water on the floor while drinking that the old vinyl tiles were starting to come loose from the underlayment. (Yes I need a new kitchen floor but want to put it off as long as possible). Most of the mats I looked at weren't very big and I wanted to put the food bowl and the water bowl on there. The food bowl is kind of big because I had to get one of those puzzle bowls so that the puppy wouldn't inhale his food so fast. Not only do they both fit, but the mat is keeping the majority of the water within the lip (unless I can teach the dog to only drool over the mat that's the best it's going to get), and it has the bonus of keeping the food bowl in place while the puppy is eating rather than him following it around as he eats as it slides around the floor. Extra bonus. My rating for durability and sturdiness is after only having it a week or so, but it seems like it will stand up pretty well to the puppy's treatment...unless he decides to chew on it.
