It smells and makes you itchy for 30 minutes or so but it works for me? I do not like the cheap applicator though. It does not stay connected to the lid unless you hold them both together. I've been buying this product for more than 30 years. Back when you could purchase it from the local drug store.

This is a superb product for sore muscles. Liquid with a applicator included. Dip in the applicator (attached to the bottle's cap), and rub it on the affected area. The formula has a very strong smell - but that's from all the good stuff that heats your skin, increases blood flow in the affected area, and relaxes the muscles. This stuff works as well as Tiger Balm - maybe a bit better. But Heet is so much easier to apply! Well worth the price.
Superglue the sponge

Great product that's been around forever. This is the first one I've purchased however, that the sponge doesn't stay in the lid. It falls out easily, and I end up getting the liquid all over my hands trying to get it to stay in. (then have to remember not to touch my eyes for a day and a half).
