Easy to set up and use personal cloud

Easy to set up and use personal cloud. I took literally just a few minutes to get up and running. I use this as a dropbox replacement - time machine backup for our household MacBook laptops, as well as an "auto-magic" backup of my iPhone camera roll. I've tried many other devices that have claimed to do what the Apollo Cloud does, but none have worked as well, or have been as easy to get configured. If you want a device you truly can "set and forget" this is the one!

My daughter bought (2) Apollo Cloud Duo 8TB drives. One for me and of course one for herself. I've had mine for about two months. Let me start by saying I have a Gigabit network powered by a Netgear Nighthawk X10 AC5400 router with my LAN consisting of a Cisco SG200-26 managed Gigabit switch. Now, that said I connected my Apollo to my switch, giving that particular port Highest priority. To my dismay, I found that the Apollo did not want to be mapped in my computer no matter how I configured the switch (Downer ! ) as I do not like to over burden my router with tasks other than my switch. My routers first two ports are aggregated to my switch. So, I had to 'Bow Down' and attach the Apollo to my router in order to Map it as my X: drive. It has performed well, but in my opinion should have been able to connect to my Cisco switch and Map itself from that point. My QNAP TS-419P+ Server has no problem at all.
It's easy to setup

I wish I could give this product 5 stars. I really am. It's easy to setup. It's fast so I am not sure why in the forum people complaining that it's very slow. But one of the key features is for it to sync with my Dropbox account. There is nowhere in the manual that shows how to do that. I google and found nothing. The tech support is so clueless. Until they could fix this UX issue then I am more than happy to change my rating.
