I ordered this to replace an older Sannce dvr that had started failing. This one has some better options including the ability to add IP cameras. I'm still using the older cameras (which aren't great) so I can't comment much on the nightvision as the old cameras aren't great with IR NV. The ability to setup schedules, motion zones and notifications is great. I've got most of my cameras set up for motion sensing and only recording during motion activitation.
