The picture is not ENTIRELY representative of what is going on; phone sensors will amplify ANY available light like 100,000,000 times (exaggeration for effect). Temper your expectations of outputs knowing that most of what you see in my picture is the phone sensor picking up more light than is "really" there.

Also, my front panel is lit up by two Corsair 140 mm AF LED fans in red. However- the fans provide functionally 0 lighting to the inside of the case so the light you see from the window all comes from the LEDs in product description, and the light coming from the front is the fans.

With how my case (a Corsair 450D AF case) is set up the LEDs produce pretty even light from front to back, because of the thick window bezel on this particular case it's very difficult to tell that the LEDs don't cover the whole length of the case and that they are LEDs instead of cathode tubes/LEDs without diffusers.

The wires are VERY thin and crazy easy to manage if you can get the MOLEX connector through openings in your case, and since the wires are black and TINY they are easy to make functionally invisible. They are about as thick (but doubled up) as the wires on your average power button connector.

Something to consider if you have a large case is that they throw light a shortish distance. From front to back (as said before) the coverage is even and pretty good BUT from top to bottom on my case there is a sort of "dead zone" in the middle. This is NOT a problem with the product. They are lighting a mid tower case, just buy 4 of them instead of 2 like I did if you have a large case. If you have a smaller case or you want subdued lighting, the 2 in the kit should be plenty.

Also- the magnets that the PCBs include were effective at holding the weight of the LED strip to the top of my case so long as I did not move the case. If I move the case, it's a 50/50 chance that the top LED strip falls off. But so long as my case is stationary there have been no problems. The top LED strip doesn't always fall off while moving the case, but it does sometimes. Before powering on the PC after moving it just make sure it's in place.

So why the 4 stars?

The connectors are VERY tight to get connected up and because of the previously mentioned issues with the magnets.

The magnets are good. They are almost too bright. and they take like 15 seconds to install.

I've been running these LED's for two years now and the only complaint I have is there are too many stupid people posting bad reviews who clearly don't understand what UV is. UV is just past the far end of the visible light spectrum and will always have a violet tone to it because the shorter the UV wavelength, the less reactive it is to surfaces that glow brightly. Then there are the safety concerns with UV exposure. No company wants the liability of selling UV lights with shorter wavelength due to the prolonged exposure you'd get with it shining in your face for hours upon hours each day. UV is a form of radiation and causes everything from sunburn to skin cancer or worse. The closer to visible light, the safer it is.

If stuff doesn't glow properly, you're more than likely not using the proper coolant. I use Mayhem's UV Blue that comes in a eye drop looking bottle and i add it to their clear XT-1 Nuke coolant. I've seen other coolants not glow as well, but Mayhem's works great.

There are also a lot of people who complain about them being too bright. Looking at some of the photos, it's pretty obvious that people don't understand that you shouldn't place them where they are in direct line of sight with your eyes. Hide them in the corners of the case, or behind radiators, or I went as far as taking some 1/2" aluminum angle from Home depot, painting it black to match my case, and placed it so the light would shine just into the case, not at me. Ill attach a pic to show everyone. The case wasn't entirely re-assembled in this photo, so excuse the unfinished look.

They arrived in a very small box and were nicely rolled up and sticking to each other with the internal magnets.
Very simple hook up if your just plugging them into your typical molex connector. But I had other plans with an extra power cord to my power supply I wasn't using. Sadly, they are not dimmable. I had hoped to run them
at the 5 volt level to dim them down a little bit as they are very bright. But sadly they won't run at that voltage so I had to stick with the normal 12 volt supply.

Other than that, the magnets are awesome and work very well. The cords are about a foot each and black so there is plenty of room to move them about. The color is awesome and blends well with my two red fans to give a purple hew to the inside of the case. At this point, I can only hope that they last. As per other reviews, the color ones seem to do pretty well, unlike the UV version. Hope this helps.
