Nice bag, but not as warm as we'd hoped.

We bought two of these for the kids for a recent camping trip. Initially, they were pleased. The bags are lightweight and comfortable. They roll up well and fit nicely into their sacks. One bag got a little wet on the outside the first night because the tent window was left open, but the inside remained dry. Our one issue is that they were not as warm as we had hoped with the 30 degree rating. The temps dipped into the 40's and even with warm clothes and an additional fleece blanket, the girls were quite cold. I feel like these bags are going to be good for sleepovers and backyard camp-outs, but we'll need to make adjustments for mountain top camping.

I ordered one of these to use for summer camping with my kids. My 9 year old son loves to sleep in the same sleeping bag, so in the past, we've zipped two conventional sleeping bags together. However, we both sleep very hot, so we usually toss and turn our way out of a normal sleeping bag by the middle of the night. I was skeptical that this MalloMe Double Camping Sleeping bag would work for us, but it's been so great, I'm kicking myself for not ordering another one for my daughter. It's light weight, warm but not hot, the material for the inner lining and exterior is smooth and comfy, and it's roomy enough for an adult and young child. It washed easily in my front load washer, and it dried quickly. Plus, it packed up smaller than one of our conventional sleeping bags. Since it's so light, I doubt it would work for other seasons than summer and fall, but it's perfect for those two seasons.

I and my spouse usually camp or backpack together. So, it really didn't make sense to carry two separate sleeping bags as they took a lot of space and carrying two separate bags felt cumbersome during some trips. This two person sleeping bag came as a solution to our needs. I am writing this review after camping for two nights using this sleeping bag. The product Arrived on time, in good condition, no damages at all. Compact and easy to carry bag. Could easily and perfectly fit this inside a Coleman 2-person tent (as shown in the pictures). Also, with proper folding, you can fit the sleeping bag back inside the carry bag and store it easily. We used this product while camping near the Yosemite valley and the temperature did get quite low during the night (nearly 35 - 40 degrees Fahrenheit) and the sleeping bag helped us stay warm. But I have not yet used this product during the winter or rain and I will update my review once I do. The instructions on how to separate this two person sleeping bag into two separate sleeping bags can be made a little more clear. Hence, I am deducting one star. Also, the instructions given ask us to leave the bag open for 48 hours before using the sleeping bags. I feel that this might not be very practical in many cases. But again, we couldn't do that and still ended up having a good experience overall. So no problems here!!

I used this to camp last weekend for the first time. I shared it with my 6yo daughter. We fit perfectly. I like that it zips on both sides so we uncover ourselves as needed. The inner lining of this sleeping bag is not the same as the outer like other sleeping bags I've used. It's softer and warmer! It dropped to 48-52 degrees overnight. I initially fell asleep with regular blankets because my daughter went to bed before me. I didn't want to bother her by climbing into the bag after she had fallen asleep. Well, I woke in the middle of the night freezing! As soon as I slipped into the sleeper with my kid, it instantly warmed me up! Totally worth the buy!

I struggled on how many stars to give this bag at first. It is comfortable and lightweight. Not as small as some other backpacking sleeping bags I have but good for the price. However, the zipper broke on my first night. Just snapped right off. When I returned home I found out I had an email directly from the seller wanting to know how I liked the bag. I told him about the zipper, we had some conversations and figured it was just luck of the draw, a weak zipper and I was drew the Short straw. He assured me they hadn't had that problem before but would look into non the less. He offered me a full refund as well. I was so impressed with MalloMe's customer service and attention to their products that I would definitely shop their products again. I know with confidence that they care about the quality of their products and their customers.
