The End of our Connection Problems
Laura•April 27, 2018
This combination modem/router has an extended range of up to 300' square, which is enough to reach our downstairs bedroom. Finally, no more dead zones in the house.

Century Link brought one of these when they came to set up the new DSL and it worked fine. I purchased one to avoid the $10/month rent and the one I purchased didn't work out of the box. When I talked to Century Link to set up the new DSL I asked about buying rather than renting the modem and was told it was a new modem and not very reliable. Maybe I will try again.
Turns out Century Link sells these modems for $100. Go figure. It comes with a one year warranty so for $60 to $70 less I ordered one. Will report back when it arrives.

Very Capable but too ISP dedicated

I just got Gigabit Fiber from CenturyLink and this is their leased model they provide. It is a very capable WiFi router and can certainly handle full gigabit speeds through the wired connections on it. I'm not sure if I broke 300mbps up/down on wireless on it. I opted to use my own equipment instead for better use in my home and a more powerful Wireless AP than this can do for me. CenturyLink sells them for $150 if you want it with their service.
CenturyLink might give you one for free if you ask

Received this through CenturyLink for free when I upgraded my DSL service speed. Apparently if you ask for the customer retention department, they can hook you up. Normal price through CenturyLink in my area was $150.
I use it in bridge mode, so I can't really comment on the usefulness of it as a router or wireless access point, but it has been reliable so far in connecting to CenturyLink in bonded mode.

Limited use

This modem will not run 2.4 and 5.0 simultaneously with any pass word other than the default pass word. If you use a custom word you have to choose one of 2.4 or 5.0 not both. I would like to see a software fix and soon. Hopefully someone will read this and take action.
