I use this all the time. Great for breakfast as well lunch and dinner. For breakfast I use a slice of havarti cheese, raspberry jam and a thin sliced granny smith apple on sourdough bread, it is great. Easy to clean up.

Doesn't heat as high, smells AWEFUL when heating is in process and plates have chemical smell and are very thin...
No matter how much butter is coated on sandwich, it's not crispy and I think it's because of the heat problem of this machine.
Also, light never changes, so you have to watch your sandwich so that it doesn't burn.
I'm returning mine.

Great product! Purchased for work and it works there. Regarding the timer, you have to engage it, it is not on normally. Turn this up to 350 degrees and cook the sammie for 5 minutes. Perfect. Also, this takes about 3 minutes to get to temp - less time than it takes to prep.
Error Codes Every Time

Had this for three months... and we've tried to use it three times. Each time we get an E1 error code and the machine turns off. Would love to have a panini maker that works and this one just doesn't. Don't waste your money. Buy a good one from a proven company.
Does not brown bread at all--not even grill lines.

Price has dropped to $39.99 for (4) sandwich maker, from $49.99 when I bought it a couple of weeks ago, but I still would never buy again. I am returning it.
1st thing, it does not cook. I tried making a grilled tuna & cheese, cutting the cheese into small cubes and mixing with the tuna. The cheese was melting and coming out of the bread, but the bread was not browned or cooked at all. Not even grill lines cooked or brown--just indents in the bread. Tuna was luke warm. I ended up taking the sandwich out and finishing in a hot cast iron skillet to cook bread & tuna quickly without loosing all the cheese.
2nd thing, the picture is deceptive--you would have to have very small bread to fit (4) sandwiches on this grill--maybe the small cheap loaves you can buy in a store might fit--maybe. Overall, not a good investment and does not do what it is supposed to.
