I've owned other mills and they are nothing compared to this little beast. It's loud; however, it does a fantastic job on reducing wheat berries to the finest flour. The only negative thing I can say is the instructions that come with the machine. It's a bit sparse on details. For such a great machine one would think they would compile a better manual.

This machine gets very hot after 2 min. Of use. It takes at least 5 min. to grind wheat fine enough to bake with. It works but takes time.

In 3 very short pulses, my rock hard herbs were pulverized from golf ball size pieces to pearl size. When I switched it on for a full 4 seconds, my golf ball-sized herbs were reduced to a powder. On the FIRST POWER SETTING! This is a very sturdy & powerful grinder! Worth the money!

I have been using this for several weeks, and it does a good job. I did need to sift my flour and re-grind the larger pieces (wheat germ and bran). I sifted again and ran the larger pieces one more time. There were still some pieces, and I stored them to be added to cookies as you would wheat germ. The unit is very loud, and it does get hot. I did 2 cups of whole-grain for 1 1/2 minute, and while I was sifting, the unit was cool for the next 2-cup batch. It does a good job, and for the price, it is a suitable beginning grain mill. I think this is a good beginning mill for someone that wants to learn how to bake with whole grains before spending several hundred for one of the quieter no sifting required mills.
