I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS THING: NUX Solid Studio

NUX Solid Studio: you need this. If you play guitar live, you will need this. The way live guitar is going, the amp modeling pedals are only going to become more of a live player staple. This, for the price range, is the best option in my opinion. I play at church weekly and in gigs and record with my band and at home. This thing has changed my life. Dramatic but true. I love amps but in a lot of live settings they're another point of failure and most of the time you're mic'ing your amp in the back anyway. This allows you to go direct and have all the options of mic'd amps you'd ever need and it fits on your pedalboard. If you play in church, your sound guys will love you for it. I've used this and an HX Stomp, and I honestly prefer this, for simplicity and because I love pedals. The HX as a "do everything" took is almost second to none, but I don't really want that. I love my different overdrives and my compressor and delays and reverb pedals. I just wanted something with tangible knobs that replace me running an amp and having to mic it. This does and honestly it does it so well without disrespecting the beauty and use of an actual amp when needed. Run it parallel with an amp live. It does what you would want it to do and it sounds SO GOOD! It just does! It takes pedals so well just like a normal amp and just allows you to not have to bring an amp and simply go direct in a live setting OR into a recording interface too! The options are no joke and they all work as promised and it's just unreal. I couldn't believe it when played through it.. once I started using it at church I never looked back. It actually made my sound clearer and just better in that setting. It sat in the mix exactly where it was supposed to and I didnt have to go back and fiddle with the mic or tweak a knob or two. It's all there at my feet and honestly I found my sound really quickly and haven't really bothered adjusting it cause it just works. It feels like a real amp playing through it and the fact that you have 8 REALLY EXPENSIVE amps basically at your feet with the twist of a knob ON TOP OF having all the mic options and preamp section options... dude.... technology these days... unreal... or should I say too real! Youll want an amp/cab sim option somepoint soon as a player and this one should be at the top of your list. Get one. It'll probably blow you away.
Mo betta!

I run this into effect return and it has come my pre-amp. Other effects go into this. Strat sounds more stratty etc. Perfect for my needs. Does it sound exactly like a Fender? Which Fender, what year etc.? Buy one.
good sound for non pros

i can get very goods sounds recording or live with this. I can never get quite the sound i want with a 57 no matter how much i move the mic or tweak the eq, etc. This can get you 95% of the way there just by turning the knobs. I like using both the cabinet and amp setting. I find a cabinet that sounds about right, set the tube type to my sound, switch the position to taste, and turn the knob to a mic that works best for me. I personally like the el 34 tube and 4x12 gb cab settings.
This works well using a direct out of the amp or i run an amp into a reactive load then into this - both sound good. I think the key is the power amp setting, otherwise the sound can get a little muffled.
I chose this over the mooer radar just due to the knobs vs having to scroll through menus, even though this was a little more.

Amazing guitar tones from this thing.

Amazing piece of equipment. I bought one after demo'ing it straight into an EV powered speaker on a recommendation from a local music store. I'm running it on my pedalboard directly into a mixer. It's the first thing I've tried that truly gives you the tone and "feel" of a great tube amp. Others may offer their opinions about the stock IRs, but I think they're great, and can't imagine needing to go online to download more or different ones. I'm a semi pro player and tone fanatic with decades of experience. I have a collection of great tube amps. But this thing is the real deal - I'm totally blown away by it.
Very useful for both stage and studio

I have a NUX Optima Air and NUX Cerberus and the NUX Solid Studio is another great addition to my rig. I was mainly looking to enhance going direct to the board for when I don't want to haul my stack on stage. The Cerberus has a IR's for cab emulation that sound good. But I was still using a DI box. At first I wasn't sure if the Solid Studio would just be redundant but the power amp, mic, and mic placement controls are definitely difference makers. Maybe not to the average audience member. But for me getting a good sound and also a consistent sound helps a lot in the enjoyment of performing and one less thing to worry about.
For recording, getting a consistent sound is also important. Anybody who's ever mic'd a cab and and amp knows that you can leave everything the same and the next day it won't sound the same. The Solid Studio helps me get a quality and consistent sound for recording. It also helps budget wise since I don't have to book studio time for all of my guitar tracks. I just go in to the studio with the band to lay down basics and do the rest of the guitar tracks on my own.
