Chinese clone of the simpler Ramsey Electronics airband receiver.

Search on the internet and you will get more than just a schematic that comes with this kit.

There was short one 10k, and an extra 4.7k. Like others reported. You probably can substitute the 10k in the AM envelope detector with the 4.7K with very little change... But then again it's a 1 cent 1/4 1pk resistor. My substitute from the junque box is the resistor in blue. You get a good end result if you know what you are doing. Price was right. Probably am going to convert it to shortwavevor at least synthesize with a si5351 for airband. Complain all you want but you could throw away the PCB and still be ahead on RF parts for the cost of this kit.

Easy to build found plans online. Missing a resistor but cost me a penny to replace it.

Very easy kit if you have basic electronics experience. Going to make a second one as it's such a low cost kit.
DIY Airband Receiver Issues

The DIY kit has some minor issues. Extra 4.7K resistor. Missing 10K resistor. Schematic incorrect at T1 10.7 MHz IF transformer. Incorrect values for CP9 and CP10....called for 10uF, should be 100 uF. Modified kit for internal 9V battery and external 12VDC operation via selection switch. Thus changed U1 to a LM7805 with 2 iN914 diodes in series in ground lead to produce 6.3VDC for receiver circuits. For better sensitivity omitted R3 270 ohm resistor. For additional audio gain to drive a small speaker added a 10uF and 470 ohm resistor between pins 1 and 8 on U6 LM386 audio amplifier. Due to now reduced tuning voltage range, reduced R21 from 3.3K to 1.5K and added 10pF capacitor across C14 to produce 118-136 MHz tuning voltage range. When squelch is open, there in no background band noise. Changed R22 value from 470K to 4.7K, squelch now functional. Operation is satisfactory...circuit is stable and distortion free.
