I went back and forth on either needing this and if I wanted to do the less expensive option or do the leather. Let me tell you: it's totally NEEDED if you wear any kind of boot and even snug dress shoes. It made a huge difference in my tallest riding boots and even a pair I've had for several years were so much better to remove. And the leather option just adds that much more protection against scuffing and scratching. Worth every penny.
