We purchased this in August 2022, and it's still going strong. I admit that I wasn't expecting much from an $80 vacuum, but this ones fits our needs perfectly. If you are expecting it to function like a $300+ vacuum, then you should bite the bullet and pay for a more expensive one. We purchased it because of the price and the reviews it received for being great with dog hair. And it works great for cleaning up after our 110lb straight-haired baby. We use it on our hardwood floors, sofa, and area rugs. It has strong suction, it's lightweight, and works like a charm. Because of the price I knew that it would not be a machine that could withstand user abuse, lol, so we empty the canister after each use, wipe it down with a damp cloth, and clean the filter. If you don't want to do all of that to keep it running smoothly, then buy a more expensive brand/model. One thing that I think could be better: The piece that holds the vacuum handle and hose should be stronger. If you don't lift the handle out of the holder at the correct angle (straight up and out), the piece will break. I wasn't paying attention last month and pulled the handle out at an angle and it distorted the plastic piece, so the handle/hose doesn't stand up unless I have that end of the machine against the wall...like I said, user abuse. Overall, I would buy this model again.
Not bad for the price

Last week my expensive vacuum died at a time that I could not afford to replace it with something of like value. I had this in my cart and then instead, I ordered the Bissell Zing because it was cheaper and Bissell donates to animal charities when you purchase from them. I ended up returning the Bissell as the price reflected the extremely cheap quality of the attachments and the suction was so strong, I could not vacuum rugs or dust with it. So then I went back and ordered this. The attachments are definitely of sturdier construction and they lock together nicely, unlike the Bissell attachments. The suction is strong, but not so strong that you can't dust with it. I also like that the dusting brush is attached right to the wand handle, so it easily clicks into place and just as easily releases. This is a good vacuum for the price.

Update 7-16-23: I have opted to order something that suits my needs a little better and keep this as a back-up, and for cleaning the car. While it is great for dusting, especially getting cat hair off of furniture, a crevice tool would be really helpful. I like it for my area and throw rugs, but I do not like it for my wood and tile floors. It doesn't seem to pull behind very well, but at least it is light weight enough to pick up and carry. The electrical cord seems a little short for larger rooms and the bagless canister doesn't hold very much. It has to be emptied and cleaned after every use, if not halfway through one use depending on the size of your home. I think this is ideal for a small, carpeted house or apartment.
Eureka WhirlWind vs Bissell Zing

I very rarely write reviews, but I felt obligated to do so today after using the Eureka WhirlWind that was delivered today from Amazon. Yesterday when ordering this machine after my 3-year old Bissell Zing finally bit the dust with the smell of burning plastic and loss of almost all suction, I was looking for a review like THIS ONE to let me know if I should buy the same Bissell Zing again (the devil you know) or try this Eureka WhirlWind out (the devil you don't). For those looking for a fast answer, I will tell you right now, the Eureka WhirlWind won by a mile. This is a far superior machine and comparatively priced. For those who are looking for the reasons I feel this way I have quite a bit to write.
At the beginning of the pandemic, 3 years ago, I was forced to downsize my living space significantly. I moved from a very large multiple level place to a small apartment of 500 square feet. Like everyone else during the beginning of the pandemic I was forced to buy pretty much everything online. When I moved into my new place I ordered 4 area rugs from Amazon and chose high pile shag rugs (all are in my photos) as well as a no pile indoor/outdoor rug for the bathroom. My old upright vacuum cleaner from the old place would have handled these rugs wonderfully, but it was too huge to store anywhere in my new place, so I had to give it away. What I needed was a small vacuum cleaner that could be broken apart in sections and stored under the kitchen sink. I found the Bissell Zing on Amazon and ordered it immediately. When it arrived it seemed to fit the bill. It was the right size and easy to store. But right from the first use on my high pile shag rugs and it was a struggle. The Zing was very limited- did not move easily along the shag rugs and really seemed to do a poor job. Vacuuming was HARD and it was not fun- it was like an aerobic workout and the rugs never seemed to be fully free of my cat's hair and my long hair. Still it was all I had and I just lived with it. Also with the Zing, which is bagless, like the Eureka WhirlWind, the filter was a paper honeycomb-like thing, which I hated right away. It was not easy to clean at all. I truly hated cleaning that filter! So ok, that's what I was dealing with and I vacuumed about once a week, hating the process. After less than a year the extension wand sections, which were plastic, began to crack. It may have been all of the pressure I was forced to use to vacuum the shag rugs. Maybe if I had just low pile rugs or floors that might not have happened. But it did. It made vacuuming ever HARDER. Oh, what a chore. I got out my friendly duct tape, bandaged the plastic and resumed and went on this way for another 2 years until yesterday when I plugged in the Zing and started vacuuming and heard an unhappy sound from the motor and smelled burning plastic. Then I lost almost all suction. It had been used approximately 150 times on the rugs and floors shown in my photos. I threw it in the trash. Since my main concern was being able to store it under my kitchen sink, I could find only 2 options under $100 here on Amazon- another Zing or the Eureka Whirlwind. I read all reviews for both. I knew the Zing quite well and knew it's limitations and was scared to get stuck with something worse (god forbid!) but I went with the Eureka WhirlWind instead. Mind you, there are a million better vacuums out there & more money will get a better machine, but the Eureka Whirlwind is much better then the Zing for MANY reasons. First of all, it was simple & brainless to put together. I think the Zing was simple as well. But as soon as I used it today it was OBVIOUS to me how much stronger the suction was and I did not have to struggle in the same was as I did with the Zing to get it across my high pile rugs. It picked up MUCH more and I honestly think my rugs got the best vacuum they have ever experienced. They are cleaner with the WhirlWind and it was EASIER to vacuum with the Whirlwind.
Other features that I found make the WhirlWind better: The extension wand is METAL with the WhirlWind, not plastic, like the Zing. So even if I had to apply the same kind of pressure, the wand is stronger and will not crack. Also, the cord is 2 feet longer than the Zing, meaning I only have to plug it in to one outlet to do my whole place.
But another thing I find incredible is NO MORE honeycomb paper filter! Thank goodness! The filter on this Whirlwind is FLAT and appears so much easier to wash. Hallelujah. My vacuuming experience just now with the Whirlwind took 1/2 of the time than it took with the Zing and came out cleaner and it took less physical effort from me. So that is something you should know. This is an EXCELLENT low priced, basic, small vacuum. I will do my best to update this review only if something goes wrong and I end up hating the WhirlWind,, but so far I am thankful I did not get another Zing.
Literally will never buy another brand ever again !

Ok , so i was skeptical of the product, but saw another review that said it will "suck the fart off of the couch" so I chuckled and said ill give it a try, price was affordable.. now I've bought one for my mom and inlaws cause omg!!!! To say I love this little thing, its an understatement. I do all the dusting with it, the horse hair attachements literally pick up everything, and floor buffer thing picks up everything. Sometimes just for fun i take my time and see from how far it will suck the skittles and other crap the kids throw all other the place, 2 inches, it will suck things from 2 inches away. Its saves me so much time, i usually run it twice daily just because its so quick. It does lose some suction once the little sponge filter is filled with dust, but I personally just slap it on a wall outside until the dust comes off or throw it in the washer because i got replacement and its ready to go at it again. Its amazing for spring cleaning because the attachments do soo much, again I cannot stress the horse hair round attachment, it will literally be a best friend. Head boards, baseboards, all the boards. Get itttttt !!!!!!!
thumbs up

Very pleased with this small but powerful canister vacuum. It moves around easily, is lightweight with strong suction and simple to empty and clean. Didn't give it 5 stars because the cord could be longer. For a small and affordable vacuum the WhirlWind is well worth the money. I have hardwood floors so I cannot comment on how it would work on carpeting.
