Best tool on the boat, great quality

We use a mooring ball and this makes tying up so much easier. We used it (fully retracted) to grab the mooring buoy in a storm with high winds and choppy waves. It did an awesome job and if it was going to fail, that was it's chance, but it did not.
If you are dealing with heavy loads or big boats, do not try to use it extended because it loses it's strength. If you are familiar with boating you will know they are designed to be used for loads when retracted. But extended is great for grabbing a dock line, something that fell overboard or anything else out of reach.
For $38 this is well worth the price.
