We have a Brinks keypad at our personal home and loved it so much that when Prime Day rolled around, we came across this Amazon Basics version and added 2x of these to our carts for our newly completed rental units. I wasn't expecting much out of a Basics product but it is sturdy, sleek, easy to install and set up, and has been such a breeze to be able to just give a code to our subcontractors to enter as they need without us having to be present. It requires 5 numbers which is 1 more than our Brinks one, but I like how it opens as soon as you have the correct combination vs. having to press "Enter" like our Brinks does so it is essentially the same number of clicks anyway. Super impressed by it!
Smart Deadbolt

Bought this reasonably priced 'smart' deadbolt for a detached garage door. The lock is easy to install and worth its money. The one major downfall it has is the instruction manual. It is not correct for programming. If you try to follow it, you will be messing with it forever and not get anywhere. There are other reviews on this lock that go through the correct process, follow those. It is very quick and simple when following the correct instructions.
Just be careful during install

Works as expected
Since you will be installing this yourself, most likely, you just need to be very careful to test all aspects of the lock throughout the install. You can get into trouble such as: key will not remove without unlocking the door, locking mechanism will only work with the key in the lock.
Locks are simple, but by turning things the wrong way, or installing it to tightly or on a warped door it can cause all sorts of problems.
When you first get both sides connected, test locking and unlocking using both the key (and remove the key after both locking and unlocking) and the inside locking mechanism (with and without the key in the lock). The, as you tighten screws keep testing to insure you are not causing any issues.
I had a couple of issues. First, the deadbolt would only work when the key was in the lock. Then everything worked fine except I had to unlock the door to get the key out.
If you get into any weird situations watch some videos on deadbolt locks specifically before freaking out - generally an issue means you have to completely take the lock off and adjust the mechanism and put it all back together again.

Works well, just bought a second one!

We bought this lock about 3 years ago at our old house and used it every single day. So much so that we did not even carry keys anymore. Well, during our move and in house buying, we lost a few parts to the lock we had so we bought another for the low cost. Install was easy and the lock works incredibly well.
Makes having company so easy

We have gotten into the habit of having lots of visitors since moving a year ago. In order for them to have access to our home we needed to replace the lock to the front door as the one in place was 50 yrs old and not in good working order. First we replace the deadbolt with the Amazon Basics Electronic Keypad Deadbolt Door Lock with Touch-Control Keyless Entry. It's wonderful! We have a group meeting every Wednesday so we turn off the auto lock to make easy access. When we have a group visiting from out of town I create a new code for them and then delete it when they leave.
Installation was pretty simple. The most difficult thing was that the hole for the old deadbolt was too small so I had to use a hole saw to make it larger. As you can imagine, centering the hole saw was impossible. What I ended up doing was cutting a hole the size of the one in the door and then placed that piece, wrapped in tape to fill up the space difference, in the door. This gave me the exact center to guide the hole saw.
