I've only been wearing them for a week but I've worn them a few times. They protected me from a few falls while learning how to drop in on a ramp. even though the butt pad is kinda slim it works. Everyone would ask me if I was okay after some hard falls outside and I'd just pop up and go for another try. I can honestly say that if I wasn't wearing these pads for some of these falls I'd propose be done skating because at my age (38) I don't have time to laid up in pain or worse. I'm a slim guy and these were a little big as first but I just pulled them up a little higher which gave me more hip protection and my sweat seems to have shrunken them a little bit too. They stretch very well. Well worth the cost.

Lightweight. Easy to move around. (Use it for pickleball). Wish the padding was removable.

I am 62 and recently started inline skating with my son. After taking several hard falls on my hips at a skate park, I decided I needed some protection. These looked like a good value with good protection, so I ordered the large for my 32/33 inch waist. They fit great, not too tight and not too loose and they are very light. The bulk is easily handled under a set of gym shorts. I took a couple of falls on my sore hips the first day and the hip pads definitely helped. I'm sure if I wasn't already bruised, they would have prevented the bruising. I then took a hard fall on my butt the next day and the pad pretty much absorbed all the impact, I was unhurt in a situation I am sure would have bruised my backside. Overall I am very happy with the shorts. I will say, as others here have said, they are very hot, but better hot than hurt. Because of the heat and resulting sweating, they require hand washing as soon as I return from a skate. My only ongoing concern is how the gaps between pads may potentially open and allow some exposure because of the thinness of the shorts material, but I have not experienced that so far. Overall, I think the shorts offer decent protection and are a good value, and if they last any time at all, I feel are worth the price.

I removed all of the pads and kept the hip pads in to take pressure off my hips due to myself having to carry a belt with tools on it. Within days the pain subsided from my hips.

I bought these for myself and for my family as we began getting into aggressive rollerblading and to help save our butts, literally. Seeing as tailbone accidents tend to happen a lot with beginners I felt these would be the way to go so we bought 5 of them in various sizes. They came quickly, arrived in their own personal plastic zip bags, which we still use to this day for drying purposes. I enjoyed using these, they're not overly bulky and can be worn under shorts or pants, although I recommend shorts over wearing these with pants, unless your snowboarding. These get HOT, I mean swamp butt HOT and you will sweat, and your undergarments will be soaked. That said, they do help A LOT with falling and protecting your hips, tailbone, and butt out with falls. My only complaints is how hot they get, which I assumed is to be expected by using any kind of these pads, and also they cushions. The cushions, especially in the tailbone area tend to shift and flatten over time. I have used these for 6 months straight, about 5 days a week, for about 4-5 hours daily, and so far my pair the tailbone pad has pretty much flattened t o the point where when I fall on it I can feel the pain pretty much in its full glory. This, compared to when I first used them, where when I fell I could barely feel the impact. Cleaning them wasn't hard, cold water with just a tad bit of detergent and hand washed, then sprayed down with cold water, and then hung out to dry. Cleaning them is a must and frequently if you sweat like I do, otherwise they WILL stink, A LOT! I haven't tried washing them or drying them in machines, and I won't, mostly because the material is thin and would probably start to fray or tear, and the pads would probably become brittle and useless. I would recommend these if you need some waist pads, but be warned, some of the pads, especially in the hip area, depending on how wide you are, can widen the gaps in between which can be a problem and create bigger areas where you can get whacked at.
