It works very good but would be "great" if it had a clip of some sort to place at the crisscross spot to keep it in place. When dog curls up on floor or furniture, the strap around chest can slip down around the front legs and can trip dog as she is getting up or trying to get down off furniture.

My japanese chin was a rescue from a puppy mill. She lived her entire life in a cage and was never taken out to "do her business". She laid in it while eating, sleeping, giving birth and nursing puppies. She was 11 years old when she was rescued. 11 years of no love and never knowing what grass was, just a wire cage floor.
I have tried to no end to potty train her but how do you crate train a dog that has no concept of not living and lying in her filth. So I crate her while I'm away from the house and diaper her when I get home and she is free to roam the house. I would diaper her and never crate her, but too much diaper wearing will cause a urinary tract infection and skin irritation. Got to keep them cleaned up just like a baby wearing a diaper.
She does not enjoy being diapered. Who would? But it is better than where she was and she knows it. But the diaper would bunch up and as she walked it would work it's way off. She was pitiful walking around with diaper trapping her back legs. I never knew they had suspenders but it is a good thing I found them. I won't lie, she doesn't like wearing the diaper with suspenders either, but I can tell she is moving easier and her diaper isn't slipping down and trapping her legs or coming off as she walks or sleeps or wiggles around. It was easy to lengthen out for her size and easy to attach to the diaper. It does take a little practice because velcro wants to attach to other things while you get it around them and try to get suspenders and diaper put on. But not so much trouble that it is worth a real complaint. Just have to lengthen and try it on until you see it stays up but isn't too tight on them that the suspenders pull against their throats too tightly while moving and sleeping.
It helps me as her mommy keep stress down about soiled floors and I don't have to feel like I make her live 24/7 in a crate like she was before I got her. She has been a test of my patience with her issues, but a blessing to my heart when she looks at me with her sweet eyes and I know I can deal with whatever as long as one less dog isn't suffering a loveless horror of a life. Please investigate where you find your next dog and don't support these puppy mills. Pure breed dogs can be found in shelters and breed rescue groups all the time if breed is important to you.

I have been struggling with my chihuahua for 13 years with his marking habits. He was raised an outdoor dog before I got him. So when he had to go, he just goes.

I tried male wraps in the past of different types but they never stayed on for more than 5 minutes.

I had him confined to the laundry room when I'm not able to watch him and he will pee on pee pads, sometimes missing. Lots of cleaning everyday. He has access to the yard but in his old age, he doesn't tolerate being outside anymore and will bark.

I have seen these on my hunt for male potty issues and thought how stupid these were and just skipped them immediately.

I have wasted money on cloth wraps, body suits and packs of disposables.

The suspenders were my last shot.

What the"¦. THESE WORK!! I should have tried these first with the wraps! Only a couple of nights had he gotten out of the diaper and that's because of the placement learning curve.

Since I use the disposable wraps the Velcro doesn't stick on the outside like intended. A reviewer mentioned to flip the straps upside down and insert them under the diaper and they will stick. That works for the diaper I have on hand. I will look into another type of wrap where I can stick on the back to make it easier. But for now, these work!

Now my boy can be included with the family more often while I cook, or if I'm preoccupied in the house.

I was reluctant to purchase the suspenders at first because I thought our senior wheaten terrier would find them uncomfortable. Customer service worked with me and I ended up buying them and it was definitely the right decision. Our dog needs a large in the diaper due to length. She is a medium according to waist size, but the medium diaper was not long enough and the large would not stay up. The suspenders solved the problem perfectly, and she does Not mind them at all. They are well made and wash nicely in the washing machine (in a lingerie bag) or by hand. I wish I had purchased them sooner. They keep a diaper on her at night and in place. I love them!
