I take care of my 86 yr old mother with dementia and we live in a one bedroom apartment for senior citizens. So when my mother would come out of her bedroom (I sleep in the living room) she would come around the corner into the living room and I wouldn't see her until it's too late and scares me half to death. She walks so lightly I don't hear her come in until she speaks and then I scream and my heart starts pounding thru my chest.. I'm no spring chicken so one of these days it's going to kill me...lol So I put this on her door so now I know when she comes out and know that she can't sneak up on me...until...she goes to the bathroom, a number of minutes passes and I think she went back into her room (it doesn't chime to let me know when the door closes) but then she'll softly pad her way to the living room from the bathroom and scare me half to death all over again. I'm buying one for the bathroom door now...
3+ years later, still works!!

After 3+ years of using this door chime... it's still working great!! I have changed the small button battery in the remote sensor 3 times... which is normal. The reason I'm here today is I forgot how to change the alert sound!! Can't find instruction here... but I think I finally figured it out. Scroll to the sound you want... then hold the volume button for 10 seconds!ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
Simple. Works great!

I was sold a security system along with fast internet access by my local ISP. We never wanted the security system, but it was free with the package so it was that or nothing. I found out later that the company had lied to us, so I returned the security system. The only part of it that I found useful was the door alarm. Kinda missed knowing when people were coming and going...
So I researched many many door alarms. Nowhere was it stated that any of them were compatible with the old door sensors. This one includes the base unit and one remote sensor, which is all I need. I tried several times to pair the base unit with the original sensor, but it doesn't seem to be compatible. That's ok though since the old sensor was easy to replace with the new (even smaller) one.
So far it works flawlessly. At first it would only chime intermittently, so upon taking off the switch cover, I found that the battery had come out of its holder. I put it back in place and have had no problems since.

We bought these for our store and put the speakers or receivers in different rooms of our store so we could hear when customers came in if we weren't at the front counter. They have good range, I'm pretty impressed really. We even put one receiver in a different section of the store that's separated by a brick wall and it works well. They are nice and loud and have a lot of different chimes, don't worry.........there's a good variety of basic chimes along with some more unique ones. We've had these for a while now so I feel comfortable saying that these are good quality and work well. The reason I took one star away was because of the setup procedure. Most people that buy these are going to put the receiver quite a ways away from the door and in order to set these up, you have to push a button on the receiver and then hurry to open the door so they will connect to each other. It's simple to do but if they're a ways apart from each other, you will need someone else to open the door as you only have a few seconds to complete the procedure before it times out. Also, if you have connection issues..........your batter in the door transmitter is likely low.
Decent electronic chime for small office use

We used to have a magnetic chime on our office door, but the spring kept getting stuck, and we'd go hours without a ding. Found this solution on Amazon, and it's working great. The sensor is contactless, so there's nothing to wear out, just a CR1632 battery to change eventually.
You can have up to a half inch gap, which was handy, because our door moves a bit when closing. We couldn't install the sensors flush against one another.
I found everything other than the default chime option to be annoying. It sounds a bit much like the doorbell, but I'm getting used to it. Could be a little louder, but it's suitable. Need to experiment with different placements for the receiver unit.
UPDATE: This is still going strong a year later with the original battery. However, it's no match for subzero temperatures when installed on an exterior door. We had a mild winter last year, but this one is giving us the Minnesota normal of several days where the high temperatures are below zero. It's no longer working. I'm pretty sure the problem is with the battery. I removed the button battery, warmed it up in my hands (it was REALLY cold), and the ringer worked again for a bit. This is the first problem we've had with it--hopefully just temporary as we weather the coldest part of the year.
Not recommended for Siberia, Nunavut, etc.
