This is a great frosting. I miss the Jiffy Fudge Frosting mix, and this comes very close to it in flavor.

Yes!!! I finally had a bite of this delicious cake after 40+ years. Perfect for making this crazy delicious cake from the 60s side 70s!!

The ingredients of this frosting mix are so simple, but it tastes amazing once prepared. We can't figure out why we don't get our homemade frosting tasting as good using the same ingredients, but we'll just keep buying this instead. :) Whenever I serve it on a dessert we get lots of compliments, and I've sent a lot of guests home with an extra box of this stuff if we have it on hand. Both the vanilla and the chocolate flavors taste great! One box is enough to frost the top of a 13x9" cake or a dozen cupcakes, but if you're doing a layer cake I'd recommend at least 2.

Just make sure you follow the directions and use UNSALTED butter"”the mix already has a little salt you can taste but otherwise it's really good. Also, because you use one whole stick of butter in this delicious frosting, make sure you refrigerate your frosting or leftover frosted cake. 4 stars because of the tad too much salt"”otherwise soo easy and good!

I understand that MANY folks did NOT grow up at a time when "dry" frosting mixes were on the grocery shelves and marketed by Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, etc. Now we are offered that HORRIBLE canned stuff. It was GREAT to discover this "dry" mix. Here are some suggestions to enhance flavor: use strong coffee as the liquid, add about 1/4 cup of chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce, add some marshmallow cream for fluffiness, a tiny bit of cinnamon gives an interesting flavor. BE CAREFUL to start with smaller amounts of liquid because you can always add more but can't take away. Get creative. The frosting will hold-up to most things you add, as long as it's not a lot of liquid. When using coffee, try "espresso" powder for a great mocha flavor. ENJOY !
