Due to most of the reviews stating how quiet the chime bells are, I was hesitant to purchase. I bought my husband this one and another as a gifts. My husband loves the deeper/bass sounding wind chimes, but we have to put them in our front yard as the sound can be overbearing when in close proximity. The bell ensures that low tone, but we can have it on the back porch with us and it not interfere with our conversations.
As others mentioned in their reviews, it does take a decent wind to get it to move, but I think that's what I like most about it. It's not constantly going off with light winds. The slight upward angle on the outer casing does make this one ring a little better than the full cylinder ones, in my opinion.

This is the perfect size for where I have it hanging. The wind needs to be blowing a little hard to get the sound. We get a pretty good breeze most of the time so I thought I would have this great sound when I'm in the pool or sitting on the deck. I'm disappointed in that. I would not purchase again.
