Solid Analyzer

Solid wifi analyzer. Essentially this is a glorified antenna - the app for your phone does all the heavy lifting.
Pretty good spectrum analyzer.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a network administrator nor by any means am I knowledgeable of wi-fi/wireless security thus I'm not able to fully articulate the useful features of this tool, though likely there are many. This review is solely from the viewpoint of a complete novice, an everyday consumer of wireless technology.
My midlife crisis began last summer when I moved into this mecca of IoT called a "˜Smart Home'. For those in the market and/or may be unfamiliar with "˜Smart Homes', consider this; Smart Homes are efficient in every way except economically. Repeat; Smart Homes are exceedingly resource-efficient every way til Friday but you better be ready to pay. Every light switch, light bulb, outlet, faucet, shower head, bathtub, sink, toilet, hot water, cold water, door, window, thermostat, etc., is wi-fi integrated. A highly personalized report containing what may be considered sensitive information (i.e. brand, type of device, MAC addresses, serial numbers, among other identifying factors) describing your abuse of aforementioned in painfully intricate detail is captured by your Smart Meter then distributed to your HOA, public utility/service companies, neighbors, and others interested. Depending on your situation, you are either expected to adjust your behavior or interaction with amenities, adhere to a (strict!) assigned usage schedule, or select between variable peak/off-peak rates and flat rate billing. Eventually I went with flat rate billing. Sometimes life happens when you're not paying attention and you're in for a loop so I like to create some predictability wherever I can. Wrong! In fact the billing details became increasingly confusing and difficult to decipher. And it gets even worse..
Despite all that, my home network was complete trash. Evidently the house is online 24/7 though I could not maintain a connection on any of my devices for longer than 15-20 minutes. This all was going on around the same time 5G was the latest and greatest so I was quick to jump on the bandwagon. We live in a time where internet reliability is as necessary for continued existence as food and water. It may be even be higher in priority as it provides those means for many of us who work or attend school from home. Going without it is like hunting without bullets. Ahh, but not so FAST.. the joke's on me, my frustrations only grew, and hell on earth was relentless for several months.
Enter the Oscium WiPry 2500x.. At this point I'm forgetting what exactly led me to look into purchasing a spectrum analyzer but I'm glad I did. I quickly discovered that 5G is a highly nuanced technology. In other words, don't expect your ISPs technical support team to be of much assistance when troubleshooting your network. Additionally, since everything requires a signal, utilities are easily hacked and stolen. This, along with the reality that wireless charging is widely adopted and quickly evolving from mobile phones to vehicles and likely entire homes in the near future, would be devastating to anyone unable to manage unexpected costs.
The tool itself is a peripheral you use in conjunction with your laptop, tablet, or phone. I believe the software is widely compatible with most devices. My personal preference is using a tablet. It's a bit cumbersome to use with a laptop since you might have to look for signals in small spaces, and the screen on the phone is too small. There also seems to be a lot of lag when picking up signals on a mobile device. I imagine that would serve as a major disadvantage for anyone recording video or relying on live feedback.
Oscium offers a few accessories on their website that enhance or extend the functionality of this tool. I decided the "˜Interference Finder' would serve my purposes. My expectations upon testing may have been outside of it's intended design; I hoped it would locate the specific sources of interference as described on their website though it appeared to detect signal bi-directionally based on the heat-map readings. In case none of the optional accessories suit your needs perfectly, there are ways to create your own probes or antennas by modifying a mini-Coax F cable and connecting it to the WiPry unit.
Overall, this tool has been a great investment. Very happy and highly satisfied.

I had original WiPry from almost 7years ago and recently does so now have new version with bith band supported. I was ready to upgrade my home mesh system from Open -Mesh to Ubiquiti so test out new device. AAA chargeable option and/or usage of AAA battery is awesome from original that used iPhone battery.
Read the signal faster than ever. I used both WiPry app I knew to use but screenshot is from NetSpot.
I was able to read well and about 10 spot to see how much my AP has degraded over the years.
I have use Fluke system that cost lots of money but always loved WiPry to reliable device that is cost effective !
