We have purchased several units of the hummingbirds solar lights. Usually, this will last (18) months and by then, the solar panel itself is pretty faded and its charging will be less effective. Change the battery by its twelve months of use so the unit will be lit longer. The replacement of the battery is a delicate job. Be sure to watch for soldered wires criss crossing the battery compartment (one AA NiMH) as the soldering spots could be weak and break off. If your are a handyman and have a soldering kit, you should be able to repair it. Otherwise, it will no longer be functional.
