My Dell XPS 8930 power supply decided that it didn't want to power on any more. As far as I can tell, it's working as expected. Since the computer was out or warranty, It would cost less to buy off Amazon, then to go to Dell since it would be very unlikely they will sell me a power supply, would want me to a penalty for it being out of support and have me ship it back to them to fix.
It brought my computer back to like.
The only drawback I see, the fan seems to be slightly louder than the original power supply when it's not under any load. But it definitely saved me from going out and buying a new computer.

We'll see how long it lasts as some reviewers said not more than a year. ANYHOW, I was happy to be able to get it in a day as my laptop is not very user-friendly and does not have all my necessary software. I installed this power supply by, after removing the power cord, leaving the old one plugged in everywhere and pulling it out of its housing gently. Then I slid in this new one and one-by-one removed the plugs and replaced them with the equal receptacle on the new power supply.
I closed the housing, put the panel back on, plugged in the power cord and powered up. The only problem was the fan was extremely loud. I was disappointed, but I allowed it to run overnight and now the fan is so quiet I sometimes wonder if it really is working.
