Went out of town and left our garage door opener in our rental car by accident and had installed this on our front door before leaving. We found out when trying to go in the front door that it does indeed work VERY well, there was no getting in through that door. The lock got a little "sticky" for a couple days after trying to get through it from the outside but it just of just been a fluke because now it's unlocking and locking very easily again! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone jsut know when installed if that's your only point of entry you're not getting in lol

I got this product to have an additional layer of security on a house back door. Installation was simple, I did use an power drill and a power screwdriver, and I'd recommend the power tools to make it simpler, but can be done with patience and a normal screwdriver as well.
The lock helps two purposes for me: it keeps the door locked, as intended, and also, when the door is open, you can place the lock in "closed position" and then the door will not lock behind you; this particular door has one of those in door knob twist locks that will not let you open from outside if is not turned, but it will allow you to open from the inside without turning it, so if you open and forget to turn it you can easily get locked outside.
To unlock you just slide sideways and pull, and to lock you just turn it, and it slides into place by itself.
When I installed it I used the 1" screws that came with the lock, there are some videos showing the same lock installed with 3" screws so it reaches deeper into the door frame, but in the case of my door it was fine, solid and enough.

works great, pretty easy to install.. just make sure the door has a big enough gap from the frame to the front of the door so it doesn't rub against it. it if does you will have to chisel out the shape of it so it doesn't rub.
