I used this window film to add privacy from an outside walkway to my kitchen. I am very pleased with the amount of light it lets pass. The privacy is not complete, because if you stand outside at night and the interior is lit, you can make out the shapes of the persons inside the kitchen. However, other reviews mentioned this, and I was prepared to make the tradeoff. My feeling is most people are not going to stop and peer in, and this film discourages a casual glance. The sense of privacy I feel as a result of installing this film is 95%. Installation was straightforward, I probably took 1 1/2 hours to clean and cover two large panes, and adhesion from a couple months ago is excellent.

I applied this to the interior of a glass block window that was in a common breezeway that offered no real privacy to inside of my condo. Fortunately, glass blocks are very forgiving and my cut and placement did not need to be perfect. I followed the directions exactly and now have the same amount of light coming in, but looking in is now distorted enough that someone would be hard pressed to make out interior details. Just what I wanted and a good price.

We have a sunroom with French doors, and we wanted something opaque to cover the windows instead of just sheer curtains. We have 2 panels about 21 x 62 and used the film on the side of the window facing the inside of the house. The installation instructions were not very good I didn't think.

Before ordering: Measure properly! I should have asked for help holding the tape measurer on the long window and was a few inches short and had to order a second roll (had to allow for a little extra on all sides) as I was trying to do both windows on one roll.

1. I bought a quart spray bottle and travel sized bottle of plain baby shampoo, already had a squeegee, single-edged razor, plastic putty knife and metal yard stick (to help with trimming)
2. Fill the bottle about 3/4 and add just a few drops of the shampoo. This will help the film adhere to the glass and allow you to reposition it if necessary.
3. Clean the window thoroughly. I used windex, wiped well with paper towels, then scraped the surface with a single edge razor to get off any stuck paint or dirt particles. Scrape to the edges so the plastic can cling all the way.
4. Then I sprayed on some of the soapy mixture and cleaned again to get the windex off (supposed to be bad for film) using a squeegee to clean it again. If it's not clean and scraped off, the plastic won't adhere to parts of the window.
5. Cut the film at least an inch bigger than the window measures. I did about 1.5-2". It's easy to cut because of the grid marks on the backing.
6. Because ours pieces were long, I needed my husband to hold the corner while I peeled away the backing. If you are using shorter panels, you may not need help with this part. There is a sticker that helps you separate the backing.
7. I layed towels on the floor and then laid the film down with back facing up (since it's textured, it's easy to distinguish) and squirt the film with the soapy water.
8. Then squirt the window liberally with the soapy water
9. Put the soapy film onto the window, texture side up of course, and make sure there is some of the plastic sticking out on each side - soapy water helps you reposition if necessary.
10. Have some hand towels ready and use the squeegee to start moving the water to the edges and allowing the film adhere to the window. Get it snug. Easier to get rid of the water than to pull off and add some because you didn't use enough
11. When you are ready to trim, it's easier if someone holds a metal ruler at the edge (you are supposed to allow 1/16" around for expansion/contraction) and use the single-edge razor to trim. The corners are the trickiest. You can use a credit card or plastic putty knife to work the corners and bubbles out.

It has been on several days and so far, so good! I found a few videos online of applying tinted film and thankfully, this is easier to apply than that since there is texture, but you might benefit from watching one.

This is the view from my only bathroom window that measures 16X41". Hideous. Didn't want curtains or blinds and this really worked for me. Bought and installed this in Sept 2022 and have only recently had to smooth one corner down - just wet the glass and press. The bottom pane is removable, so I lined the outside too and it's still sticking to the window in spite of brutal weather here. Reviewer hamilton 917 did an excellent job with installation instructions. My only complaint is how hard it is to get the backing off. This film is thick, easy to cut and apply. Don't know about "significant savings" energy wise, but it significantly improved the overall look of my bathroom!

I have been pleasantly surprised with how pleased I am with this static cling window film. As shown in the image (only installed on the lower panes in this image), it provides a gentle blurring effect that noticeably reduces the heat of sunlight. It was easy to install (though I did purchase an application kit with a mini spray bottle, mini box cutter, and flattening tool which made installation much easier). This film is applied with a little water for suction and is easy to peel off and reposition. I will also add that it was easy to patch together excess pieces, provided they were patched parallel and "going with the grain", as the design hides cut lines. This made it possible to stretch a single roll a bit further.
