When I am out in a boat parade I wanted some additional flashing lights. These are easy to string and require only three AA batteries ( included ). There are several modes of flashing and four different color LEDs. I usually leave mine in a mode where it cycles through the different flashing modes. These are not bright enough to be considered safety lights but they are a great addition to decorative lighting.
I liked these so much on my kayak that when my makerspace wanted to light up a four wheel floating bicycle I bought four more to put on the wheels. I just attached the ropelight with wire cleats and ziptied the battery compartment to the wheel near the hub. After several hours of activity on the water they were still flashing!
