I was running the factory-included antenna from the XM Vehicle Kit, for the Onyx EZ. That's 22 feet of antenna cable! I could probably encircle my little TJR with all that cable, and my antenna was just up with the CB, top windshield center. I got tired of the rig throwing the bundle of cable at me while rock crawling, so I opted for this 1' option.
It's perfect! I'm using the vent mount for the Onyx EZ (the unit is shared between my TJR and it's highway tow vehicle), and have twist-tied the antenna itself to the plastic vent at the base of the windshield center, behind the dash accessory tray. The cable length is perfect! No more dealing with that excessive amount of cable now. And, as a result, the unit is staying locked onto the satellites a lot better.

I used this to replace the 8 ft antenna & cable that came with the Sirius XM radio tgat I boughtbfir my Goldwing. It was way too long to make the connection between my planned antenna and radio locations. The radio is mounted on my Goldwing on the left handlebar. The antenna is velcroed to the top of the cb controller. It left me with a big bundle of antenna cable to contend with. The 1 ft cable length is just long enough to make the connection with a little extra slack. However, if you are planning to place the antenna anywhere else on/in the fairing, I recommend you consider using the antenna with the 3 ft cable.
