Works by itself down to about 60F. Took it out in 30F weather, thermal underware, jeans, hoodie, rainjacket, no tent. Was a little cold, but that would have been solved with a sleeping pad and an extra pair of socks. Was losing too much heat to the ground, sleeping bags prevent heat lose to the air. Overall, if you have proper camping gear it works well in most places.
