Based off what it says to measure, I was on the line of a Large/XL which didn't make sense to me. I read a review that stated they had issues with sizing due to a larger thigh but smaller knees and calf. So I went with my gut and bought a Medium even though 5.5" above my knee measured 17.5". The medium fits PERFECTLY and stays put, doesn't slide and its not too tight. The only time I experience any discomfort is if I am sitting with my leg bent for too long. Otherwise, it gives me great support and has helped tremendously with my knee pain and it constantly wanting to buckle.

I was in a severe car accident in march that left me with two broken legs, and having to relearn to walk. My left leg was a femur snap, but my right was a complete knee break (tibia fibia femur pcl etc). I have zero cartilage in my knee at 32 years old and with a 2 year old I was looking for something to help manage the pain when my knee ultimately swells. I love this brace and the support it provides, not only to the sides of my knee but the back where my PCL is still torn after 9 months. It helps with the swelling and the shifting of my bones and probably will end up buying another 2-3 to rotate throughout the week.

This is the best knee brace support I've tried. It truly supports, stays up during sports and I can wear all day. Can also cool the gel to keep knee from swelling. Material is soft on skin, flexible and quality -keeps its shape. While you slide on/off like a sleeve, it is not the thin useless sleeve material offered by other brands. Hand wash due to metal stabilizing spring on each side of knee. I have two with knee gel and one shorter Neenca w/o gel/springs. I wear the gel brace for pickleball and have avoided re-injury wearing these for 9mos so far. This brace does well to remind me to pick up my foot and not twist or pivot the knee.

I bought a pair a size smaller. They help me get around. My left knee had 3 operations 1 went bad infected 2 was a spacer with meds and 3 was replacement with longer stems. It pads my knee when I'm working will be 71 in February
