Maneuverability is impeccable!

I had surgery on my right foot and doctor's orders were: absolutely no weight or pressure for two weeks! I was able to use the scooter 48 hours after my surgery. Aside from sidewalk stairs, which I needed my crutches, my checkup appointments were used with my scooter. You can't just take off, all day long! The first week you're building up your strength little by little, with your opposite leg holding up and balancing the rest of your body weight. By the second week, you can last long enough to cook or wash dishes [quickly]. The design is so small, it allows you to get very close to whatever you're used to doing standing up, without have to constantly be reaching to do simple tasks. Another great quality in design, is the small structure allows you to roll through thin spaces, and that's a plus in my house which is way more overcrowded than it should be. You don't need a big space to turn either. The two front tires are wider than the back and you can reverse turn forward, reverse turn forward to get around corners. Which helps because you would think you can just scoot over the back tires to the side, but right after surgery, lifting and moving your body feels like dead weight. I read, in prior reviews, most people didn't like the loose basket, and tied it down. I found the basket super useful! I didn't need to tie it because I always had a water bottle in it so I stayed hydrated, and I always carried my phone, chapstik, and medication. When I went to my appointments, my son would remove the basket, hand it to me in the car, and fold down the handle to place in trunk. Lots of info! Hope it helped! I loved it, and the freedom it allowed me! Oh yes, the tires are rubber not plastic, and never slipped, and rode well over the rocky landscape sidewalk leading to my doctor's office. [The breaks work well, but never got both breaks to lock. One would lock, then pop back up]
Maneuverability is awesome!

The wheel widths are great for foot placement when scooting around. The turning radius is small allowing for tight turns and fewer corrections to accomplish those turns. The addition of the basket is a nice bonus. I was afraid of how much I would have to assemble. The wheels and brake lines were ready to go. The rest was not hard. I dislike the amount of play/movement of the frame. I particularly was unhappy about a rear wheel falling off the frame while in use! I had help securing it back on and I have not had a problem since that one incident.
Great

My husband could not maneuver crutches, so we purchased this scooter. He could zip around with ease. He used it for over a month. After he was finished, there was a tear in the material covering the pad he rested his leg on.
Almost Essential for Non Weight Bearing

In June, I fractured 3 bones in my left ankle, which required surgery and an unusually long recovery time due to the extent of the fracture. I had this scooter almost immediately after the surgery. I could never have made progress in my recovery without the scooter. It gives a lot of freedom when going out and about. It is easy to maneuver, but you must be careful. I have found that if you use it outside in the street (I have begun to take my doggie out for walks), it will tip if you go over a rock or another piece of debris, so you must be watchful. I also ordered a cover for the seat which helped provide comfort to my knee. Because I am now back in my two-story house, I have ordered another scooter for upstairs.
Useful, but BE CAUTIOUS

This scooter is super useful and has helped a lot with mobility. It does loosen up with use so the bolts need to be tightened frequently. Also, it does best on hard surfaces. The softer the surface the more chance of tipping. It has a narrow wheel base, so it tips very easily, so you have to always be cautious. My surgeon told me that this model causes a lot of his patients to come back in with broken wrists or injury to their good leg. It tipped on me once and I had to catch myself with my bad foot 6 days post op. May decide to return and get a different one just to play it safe. Final note: as long as you exercise constant caution, it's still a good scooter.
