I'm a cast iron person, but that said ... I wanted a non-stick pan just for my eggs in the mornings. I wanted a pan I could fry my eggs in... I use butter...andI wanted a crispy edge on them and then best of all...to have themslide out of the pan onto my plate. This pan worked the very first try and it has actually worked 2 days in a row!!! I've purchased a non-scratch spatula today!! I have my own chickens, and their eggs are the best so I can't tell you how happy this makes me!

I'm a single guy who doesn't know much about cooking or caring for cookware, and I destroyed my last frying pan because I didn't know you were supposed to use oils when cooking, you should clean it well after each use, and you should never scrape the pan to get off stubborn bits of baked-on foodstuffs. It wasn't long before I had to throw that ugly, burned, scratched pan away and order a new one.

Fortunately for me, this CAROTE frying pan came with directions on how to cook and care for a frying pan. So now I spray the pan with PAM before cooking or use olive oil, I clean it gently, and I treat it like everyone else knows you should. You can see from my posted photo that after cooking many omelets and many hand-washings, it still looks like new.

The only query I have is why the handle on the top of the lid is not tight ... it can spin. I started to use a screwdriver to tighten the screw and quickly realized it's designed that way on purpose. I just don't know what the purpose is.

I like the granite-style design of the pan, the wood handle stays cool, and the price is very reasonable. I thank CAROTE for teaching me a lesson.

Update- customer service reached out after I submitted the review below and gave me a refund. I assume this pan was defective. It happens. I diligently followed the directions and plan to buy another and update my review accordingly- 4 stars

We have multiple Carote products but honestly disappointed in the quality of this pan. We must have received a defective one as none of the rest of the products we purchased are displaying the damage shown here. I tried reaching out to the distributor about this but the link provided for support went to a 404 error page.- two stars

We love everything about this pan. It is the best non-stick pan we have ever had. Eggs slide off - as well as other food. The handle is strong. The clear glass lid is perfect for watching the food. The pan doesn't seem to scratch easily (we only use plastic or silicone utensils). It''s so wonderful to cook eggs, omelets, varied veggie mixes, and not have it stick!! The food just slides off the pan. And that makes it so easy to clean!! The pan has been so great that we just purchased another one to have out in the RV as well - perfect! We had one issue with the lid being damaged during shipping and they immediately sent us a new lid as well as following through to make sure future shipments were packaged well. Great customer service!!

I like to add the item description in my review so everyone knows EXACTLY what is being reviewed. I hate nothing more than reading reviews that weren't even for the product you're looking at, not even sure how that happens.

Anyway. I bought the 10" and 8" versions of this frying pan skillet. Before buying I read all the reviews and watch all videos customers had posted. After receiving and using for a while, I have to say, these skillets are not quite as non-stick as the videos led me to believe, but don't get me wrong, it wasn't far off either. You're not going to crack an egg right into the pan and it not stick a little. But that wasn't my expectation before buying, I've never had a non-stick not stick to a degree. The pans clean very easily, and I cook a lot of red paste and sauces in them, which by the looks of the pans I though would stain, but they don't.

So after using the skillets for over 30 day, I was washing it by hand as I always do, and noticed it had a crack in the side of it. I inspected it to make sure it wasn't a scratch....nope, it was definitely a hairline crack, that wasn't there when I received it. The crack is only on the inside of the pan too, so it's a surface crack. And yes I take very good care of my pans, hand wash and use rubber cabinet liners between my pans when storing, so I'm positive it wasn't something I did. I'm thinking it's some kind of heat or stress crack. I've continued to use it and I haven't noticed it get any bigger, nor has it effected it's performance. Because of this I haven't bothered to contact the company. Just wanted to make everyone aware of the possible manufacturing flaw.

Like I said before, I didn't expect 100% non-stick, so the only reason I took off a star was because of the crack that developed. Would I recommend it still... yes. Would I personally buy it again... yes. I can't recall seeing anyone else in the comments with this issue, so I wouldn't let this one review hold you back from purchasing a very good affordable skillet.
