Love this weather station!

This weather station is very easy to set up and we are enjoying the information we are receiving. I gave it four stars because I had quite a time connecting to the internet. I had to pause our 5Ghz band and more the station away from the Eero and it finally connected. Now it is working great!

Finally Got it Working

I have had this weather station for more than three weeks now and I finally got the WiFi working. The station supplies all the weather data I could possibly want for my home. The mounting on the side of my roof was easy once I studied on just how to do it; like it needs to be pointed south. But immediately when I got it mounted I started getting the weather data from it. I am still trying to figure out just how accurate it really is. I think the rain gage is not reading exactly correct because I had a glass tube rain gage that registered 5" of rain and the Sainlogic only registered 3.5". I will need to double check this again. I am also not so sure about the outdoor humidity reading and I will need to find someway to check and calibrate it also. There are calibration procedures in the manual but I haven't had time to do these yet. Overall the station does what it is supposed to and what it is advertised to. However, you need to view the screen at eye level or it starts getting darker and darker the more of an angle you look at it. They advertise view from any angle, but that is not the way it actually works. About the WiFi setup: that is what took me so long. I followed the directions Sainlogic sent me via email after the order and their directions are confusing and inaccurate. I kept getting over and over each time that the app could not connect or find my WiFi. Very frustrating. It I wrote Sainlogic and they said my password was incorrect. I found that when you are asked to enter your home WiFi credentials during setup, the instructions need to be more specific. Every time I came to this part of set up I TYPED my username/password into the setup screen on my phone. But after many days and many many tries I saw a YouTube video and the video showed clicking on the drop down symbol when selecting the WiFi; instead of typing it in. After I saw the video I used the drop down symbol and selected my home WiFi...and then it connected and started working. A few minutes later I showed data on my Sainlogic App in my phone and later Weather underground showed my station on-line. For some reason...I don't know why; when you type the info in it inputs the wrong password, no matter what you type in. I am happy with this item as is does what I want it to. But it seems to me after Sainlogic has been in business for years they could finally clean-up their instructions on how to connect the WiFi. That is why I only give them 4 out of 5 stars.
It’s got a tough act to follow but well up to the task!

Since 2012 I've had a PWS on wunderground. 11 years of continuous weather data. Today I retired it in favor of the WS-0310.
My first impressions of setting it up"¦
It has a more sturdy, more compact & lighter sensor unit than my older station. A big improvement, since there's less weight up there on the pole. It's consolidated & streamlined design makes for a smaller profile in the wind.
I'm impressed with the quality of the colorful LCD display. The larger indoor unit is heavier & more robust than my old Weatherwise WS-2090 monochrome display.
I'm happy having more information presented on a larger display, but if given a choice, I'd prefer one even larger for hanging on a wall. To really see the display clearly, it's best suited on a desktop or table for reading at a arms distance. On a wall you almost need to walk up to it to take in all that it presents.
Setting the station up was pretty painless. The supplied hardware made mounting the sensor unit on my 20' pole a snap. The screws & nuts appear to be stainless so corrosion shouldn't be an issue. Be careful you don't lose the tiny screw on the battery cover. The Sainlogic app appears tailor made for a phone instead of a tablet. For setting the station up to stream data to the internet, the Sainlogic app worked best on my iPhone. Using my phone helped me discover I needed to not be sitting next to the indoor unit when trying to directly connect to it. Helped me to be a bit further away from the display unit allowing the unit to find the Wi-Fi router. Beyond linking the station to your Wi-Fi, the app will present the latest conditions at the station wherever you're at. It's a simple app that presents near-time, & historical data.
Once connected to your Wi-Fi router, it's a breeze to configure the station for uploading to wunderground. My older station needed a computer with software to get data out on the net, along with lot of settings to configure. Not no more. I won't be missing the hair-pulling needed to figure things out at all.
After unplugging the display and relocating it across the room, the unit found the data stream from the sensor package out on the pole 20' up and 60' away almost instantly, and it's connection to the server linked up in under 5 seconds.
Things weren't infallible at first. There was a learning curve of a sorts, with the only hard part of the setup was figuring out the need to not be sitting next to the indoor display, when trying to connect to it. Once that hurdle was performed, the station was up, online, and doing its thing. No muss, no fuss.
The only potential fly in the ointment is in the station ONLY using 2G networks. Check your Wi-Fi to be sure you have a 2G network before buying.
Overall I'm very impressed, & I'm optimistic I'll continue to be impressed for as long, or longer, than my last weather station served me. A tough act to follow but one I think this weather station is up to the task.

Setting up internet connection is not explained very well!

Setting up was easy for the transmitter and receiver. Setting up the Wi-Fi directions were not very easy to understand.
