I waited along time before getting a smart thermostat. This was a perfect choice. Compatible with Alexa. Easy to operate. I installed it myself the directions were easy to follow. I also watched some videos online to get a second confirmation. Probably a 30 min process. Looks really clean too.

I thought the claim that it saves you 10% on electricity but it really does! It regulates my house temperature when I am not home and Eco mode saves me a lot of money. It also is easy to change temp from my phone even when I am not home.

I bought this to replace a non-smart-but-programmable thermostat that we've had for years. The problem with the old one was that it was always popping on to some sort of schedule that I never remembered having programmed, and we couldn't make it permanently bypass the schedule; I'd reset the temperature and turn scheduling off, but then the next afternoon I'd get home to an 86° house because the schedule had turned off the air conditioner and turned on the heater. So I wasn't interested in any of the bells and whistles, which is why I didn't spring extra for the "learning" thermostat. This one looks really cool and only took me a few minutes to install and configure. Plus, I like the idea that I can check or change the temperature from the app on my phone or or even vocally, with any of the three Google assistant speakers in the house.
