I had a shark upright for quite a few years. The suction was excellent on it, but it made the vacuum extremely hard to push back and forth. My shoulder has been giving me trouble, so I decided to go back to a canister.
I've had many Kenmore canister vacuums through the years, I'm 67. So I wasn't hesitant to purchase another one. I'm not disappointed at all. Still great quality and excellent suction. I love that all the tools are store on the vacuum. The cord is very long, much longer than the shark. If I used the hose and wand with the shark it would always fall over. Got bruised a couple of times. The wand is so easy to use on the Kenmore, makes cleaning so much easier. I can also use it to clean my car, using all the tools. I would recommend this vacuum and I feel the price is fair. Oh almost forgot, we have 2 medium dogs and it vacuums up their hair very good.

My only other canister vacuum was 30 years old, a Kenmore. It actually is still running, but the motor head wore out so now only used on bare floors in the basement.
This vacuum came expertly packaged and arrived quickly.
Pros: it's a canister vacuum! Easy to maneuver, and everything works as it should.
Cons: the head detaches when you go under low furniture if it hits the release button but no biggie. It doesn't have a headlight. Oh well. The handle wand is a bit top-heavy so it doesn't always stand up. To avoid any stress on the motor head I disconnect it in storage.
The bare floor attachment may look smaller than the older model that I had but I held them together, and they actually are the same width.
So far, I'm enjoying vacuuming and hope it lasts for many years as my previous one did.

I have always loved these vacuums, this is my 3rd one of this brand and style. My first lasted 10+ years, the second lasted about 4 and the wand broke in half 🤷"â'€ï¸ðŸ¤¦"â'€ï¸ after that I decided to try a shark, it was good at first but lost suction after some use and is now my garage vacuum.
I decided to go with Kenmore again and I do live the vacuum, it's definitely a lot better than the shark but I feel like they've gotten cheaper when making them. The carpet floor head doesn't connect correctly and will randomly slide off while I'm vacuuming, super annoying! One of the features I loved about my last one was the ability to adjust how strong the suction is, this model has that option but again, not as good as it used to be, it's a simple full suction or not, while the last one I could adjust until it didn't suck up my throw rugs in my kitchen, this one sucks it up no matter what.
Lastly, the hard floor head attachment, is a lot smaller than they used to be so it gets clogged easily with like small pieces of paper or whatever my kids leave on the floor.
Overall I am happy with my purchase, especially since I got it at a great price on prime day. It does do an awesome job with dog hair, we have 3 dogs, one long haired Aussie and 2 labs, much better than the shark was with it!

I just got this but I had another Kenmore vacuum for 15 years. They are decent sturdy machines that function well. I love this one but it is a little heavy. Which is fine for me but I know some ladies who the weight of a Vacuum cleaner is an issue for so I mention it. Overall so far I'm pleased.

My mother always preferred Kenmore vacuum cleaners, and if it was good enough for Mom, it's good enough for me. This cannister is replacing both an old Kenmore cannister and a Kenmore upright. I always felt the upright was better on carpets than my old cannister was, so I'd pull out both to do the vacuuming. I detest uprights, and my old cannister was heavy as heck. The latch had broken off the hose base of the cannister, so if I tugged on it too hard it pulled right out. Irritating, for sure. Plus, it was noisy as a jackhammer despite the "noise reduction" it advertised.

This cannister is, as is everything these days, made of plastic or a polymer. It weighs half what my old cannister did and does a better job, both on the floor AND on carpet, and outperforms the old upright on carpet. It also has a powered vacuum brush for pet hair that works very well. This cannister gets the job done with a lot less effort. Highly recommended.
