Let me begin by saying that this is my first and only experience with security cameras, so I cannot compare this system to other systems. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get it up and running as easily as I did.

BACKGROUND: I was not eager to get into the expense and complexity of a security system but my wife was convinced that we should have one. We did our homework. The long-term contracts and expense of commercial systems were out. We would need to purchase and install a system ourselves. Wired cameras were eliminated immediately because we don't have access internally and we didn't want wires running on the outside of the house. That left wireless systems. We soon discovered that every brand we looked at required monthly storage fees per camera. All except Lorex. The Lorex system we purchased included a storage device that communicated with our internet and our smartphones via a hard-wired connection to our router and a Lorex app on our phones.

INSTALLATION: Everything needed was in the package. (Good!) Instructions were not "perfect" but internet searches gave us the missing or incorrect information to enable us to continue. Installation and pairing of the cameras were easy. (Surprise!)

USE: Everything works as we expected. There are only two things (so far) that could be improved. 1) There is a time lag between motion sensing and beginning of recording. I don't know if this can be improved. And, 2) night (infrared) picture quality is not as good as full-light picture quality. That's just "the nature of the beast."

CONCLUSION: The system meets our requirements and our expectations. Can't do much better than that.

Don't expect real time pictures with this system. It is battery driven, and wireless so there is a time delay to see the video. Alerts are delayed as well, but maybe 3-5 seconds. For not having to drill holes all over the house I can live with that. One feature that creates is that you can put the cameras almost ANYWHERE. I have two aimed at the house from fixtures on the property, and one covering each side. Works out well for us. It's been installed for about a month and the batteries are down about 1/4. Links to monitor, computer and phone. Prompts when cameras see something. Do be mindfull of trees and other things that flap in the wind. It will set tthe alerts in motion.

Product was advertised with a long unobstructed receiving range, however, with the antenna integrated with the recording unit, you cant put it outside for better reception. Pictures are clear, works great with ipad and iphone however it does have about a 10 second lag before the cameras come on line. Client 13 does not work with a PC. Tried both Windows 7 and 10, had a brief picture with 7 but nothing with 10. Never got 7 to work again. Will call support. Bought it for farm security, max range is 200 feet if antenna is outside.

This is a great camera system and it requires no wires!!!

So far so good the cameras work wireless very far and image quality is excellent
