NEEDS STRONGER PILOT BIT. Otherwise Solid; know what you are doing

I've used plenty of hole saws for many household purposes and needed this to install a 6" metal duct from stovetop through cabinets and through the side of the house. This did the trick, with the following comments:
(1) the shank requires a 1/2 drill. It won't fit a 3/8".
(2) a 6" holesaw takes MUCH more torque than even a 4". Cordless won't cut it. A proper drill with a handle for your second hand is much better.
(3) cut extra gently, slowly and evenly. The teeth want to grab - repeatedly - and torque your whole body. I found it hard to avoid this, even going as deliberately as I could.
(4) Start the hole slowly and precisely. I had to cut 3 holes. And in doing so, just a little wobble snapped all three of the included pilot bits!!! For a holesaw this large, knowing it could be used in some awkward positions, a larger diameter pilot seems essential.
I like the color of this saw and really like how the arbor design attaches - and I already have two others (neither of which I have ever snapped a pilot bit!!!). It's a standard design so my other saw and arbors are all interchangeable (... which is good because I had to do some adapting for my last hole.
In all, a success other than the pilot bits.

Works great for in-ceiling speakers

Purchased to cut out 8" holes for our in-ceiling PA speakers. Although we only had to cut through ceiling tiles, the blade should be more than sharp enough to cut thru drywall or plywood.
Mandrel

Hole saw worked well, comes with a few extra drills. I found that a Lenox mandrel, this hole saw and Spyder brand all interchange with their hole saws,fyi..
Much better for cutting drywall than other types of saws

The teeth can dig into drywall of certain types but no problem, just run the drill backwards and. this will easily make to hold you need for ventilation and other purposes. Very sturdy and strong, heavy-duty. I think it would last and last even for a professional contractor, not just the one-time use of the home do-it-yourselfer.
