I have bought this light table for photographing film negatives with DSLR. Table is simple, no light intensity control, but one feature makes is very attractive. One can put film loaded into film holder directly on the light table and even with high resolution camera (Sony A7RII) there is no visible LED grid or elements present on the picture. White balance seems to be OK. Given price of the item I would recomend to give it a try.

I have over 40 carousels of slides (that's 3200 slides) that I wanted to digitize into photos. This backlight worked wonderful! Not sure if it was the SlideScan app or not but the one thing that I noted was that when the scan is completed, many times the contrast or colors are off a bit. I don't think that this is the result of the backlight panel but more likely the workings of the SlideScan app. Still, compared to what one would have to pay to have these converted by someone else, you cannot beat the price!
Bottom line-- if you want to scan slides to turn them into photos, this Backlight is an essential tool. Go for it!
